Just when you think you've found the biggest moron on tip.it, you come along and astonish us all. I feel less intelligent just for reading your post.

I thought that is was just another terrorist attack, like the one that just about got stopped in london the previous day.

Unfortunately, Glasgow Airport is a short drive from my house, so I've been thinking about this non-stop for most of the day.

 

 

 

I believe they probably were copycats in one form or another. The media would have you believe that it's some terrorist Masterplot, in fact, they keep using the phrase "Mastermind", which completely insults the word if you ask me.

 

 

 

I mean, the suicide car they used was the dumbest, most basic setup possible... and they still screwed it up.

 

 

 

A few kerosine tanks set on fire... come on, that's hardly an international terrorist master plot lol. They didn't even bother with shrapnel... about as dumb as a terrorist can get really.

 

 

 

What sickens me the most is that these creatures attacked on the first day of the school holidays... they were trying to kill our children. Innocent kids who know little of politics, yet this was clearly their target.

 

 

 

They are the very definition of the word "Coward". Sub-human scum.

 

 

 

Sadly, there's nothing that can be done about it. An attack like this can never be predicted or intercepted by intelligence.

 

Anyone in the UK could go out and buy a few gas canisters, strap some nails to them and have themselves a bomb that would kill hundreds... all without having to tell a soul and all achieved without buying a single suspect item.

 

 

 

How can this ever be stopped?

 

 

 

1. Prevent immigrants? Impossible and a violation of various rights etc...

 

2. Tougher zero tolerance policing measures? Look what happened to that poor Brazilian guy in London. Tougher measures would make the innocent suffer and the terrorists win by default.

 

3. Re-education. This is the most likely thing to work. Instill a sense of identity on the British people again. Give us our national celebration day (much like Americans have July 4th).

 

4. Compuslory national testing for immigrants. I believe that ALL foreigners in our boarders should sit a compuslory test that ensures they're integrating within our society. That they know about British history, can speak English and have no extemest views.

 

 

 

Option 4 may strike many as a little OTT, but I don't believe it is.

This is undoubtedly part of something much bigger. Two cars in London, an opportunistic attack on Glasgow, raids in Merseyside, Cheshire... the list goes on. What's noticable is it's everywhere, not in one concentrated place...

 

 

 

Let's look on the bright side though and commend the unquestionable bravery and dedication of our police force. Three attempted attacks, yet no-one killed - signs of an effective approach to terrorism IMO.
