The police are saying the attacks were related and the national security has been bumped up to critical. If they were 'idiotic copycats', as you put them, well, does that make a difference? Luckily it seems that both are the work of relative amatuers and neither went to plan. Just seems like radicalised morons with only little knowledge of bomb-making and security procedures that being said, it was still a worryingly close call. One was also fighting with a police officer throwing punches while, as the policeman himself said, screaming "alah, alah!" as he was punching. Not particularly surprising stuff but it's more or less confirmation that this was no accident (even if it was safe to presume so anyway) and strengthens the idea that there is a link with what happened in London.
