I wouldn't go to fire giants. Because they can hit high on your levels. I would suggest over 50 range to use a magic shortbow, then range them using safespots with iron arrows/knives.

and when i use rune halberd over a safe spaot?

Never thought about that. Yes why not halberd. But bring a few air and mind runes to lure the giants to the safespot.

Not sure, but I'd rather go to Waterfall. I don't like those Wild Dogs :(

+1, if you don't want them to hit much, get like 75,75,75 on your melee stats.

If you plan on meleeing close-range (i.e. not hally) then you need to train a lot more. I'm melee stats 70/64/62 and they pound me in full rune/dragon armour. Ranged is really the best way to kill them; since you don't care about speed (hally isn't exactly fast exp), train your ranged to 50 and use MSB with iron arrows. That way you don't have the problem of getting hit while you're luring them to a safespot, and ranged is probably faster than hally anyways.

 

 

 

Good luck getting a d med, btw - I've killed 250+ fire giants and gotten 1 rune skim, never mind any dragon items!
