Board info says discussions. Topics like 'what item would you like to have in irl life' isn't a discussion, it's just a question. I'm not saying these sort of topics should get disbanned, just isn't ment to be in a board that's made for discussions. I would suggest splitting them up again, i think most of us seen it isn't going very well[/b]

Yeah, the person who came up with this, it's a good idea, but the events are mainly for lower levels, we need events such as KQ Hunting, King Dagannoths, KBD Slaying <- (You can find guides for these on main site or in the 'Archive of Wisdom' board.

All "congrats, you've achieved xx level!" pictures are the same. I think most of these threads are redundant enough as it is, but I hardly think a picture is what should qualify it as a worthy thread.

Agreed. Maybe we could split up the current general board we have into general runescape chat, and general runescape discussion. One would have hypothetical questions, be community related, etc. The other would be pure discussion about the game, its updates, its elements, etc. It's pretty easy to draw the line between threads, and I think that would solve a lot of current issues people are having.

I don't see this as a major issue. There are enough stickies people skim over already. The more stickies there are, the less likely people will read any.

The TET is mostly ran by low levels, so most events are catered to low levels. Plus low level activities cater to more of the community. Groups like Slayers of Dangerous Beasts or clans are good for higher level events.

Agreed. It couldn't hurt to highlight members that stand out. There would be a better chance of them sticking around that way, and like you said, becoming future prominent parts of the community. We're definitely missing users like that, and I think there are things that can be done to try to keep more of these types of members.

I don't see this as a huge problem actually. Or maybe I just haven't happened to stumble upon many picture-less threads in Rate This :?

General Discussions

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like the reason you think the merging of the two boards isn't going well is because of the mass increase in "What would/if/is your favourite" threads? While I do think that those threads are a problem that need addressing, I don't think that it's a result of General and General P2P being merged.

Spammers, Attention Seekers, Keyloggers - These sorts of topics are often made, do not reply to the Spammer and Attention Seeker topics, report them, and leave them alone, in a Keylogger topic, post that it's a keylogger (if you're 100% sure) and report it.

It would be great if people wouldn't reply to those kinds of threads, but no matter how many rules we scribble down or warnings we send out, I don't really see it happening. We have a general 'motto' that states, "Don't reply to it - report it!" (and even have a signature for it ) but we're still not getting the message across. The fact of the matter is that people love to get their say in. They love to walk in and say, "Sheesh! Another pointless thread! Tip.it certainly has gone downhill!" Why? Who knows. Because by doing that they're just bumping the thread up, forcing themselves to have to look at it on the first page for even longer.

Maybe it's just me, but I actually don't see them very often :? I see them from time to time, mostly in the Help & Advice forum, but I simply direct them to the sticky and move on. But again, I don't see threads like that created too often. And I agree with Adam007 in saying that we already have loads of stickies in almost every forum. They're very intimidating and almost cause the forum to appear cluttered. I have no problem with linking people to that sticky on occasion, and locking their thread if necessary.

I'm no TET expert, but I do think that having a few higher leveled events once in a while might be fun.

I don't really have a strong opinion on this, but I'm pretty open-minded on the matter. It might be worth discussing further.

Discussion Of The Week, Achievement Of The Month, many forums have this and it woulnd be a bad case if we had this to.

I really like this idea. I'm very pleased that we've brought back Rank Contests, as it adds a little bit of fun and enjoyment to the community. Adding more exciting contests and competitions might be a fun way to get users more involved and overall enjoy themselves while visiting the forums.

We have a great sticky where you can suggest events. If you submit it there, you are guaranteed that it will be read and reviewed by the TET Leaders. :)

http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=513145

The main reason we haven't hosted many high level events, is that people haven't asked for it - also we aim to include as many as possible. We have had two Waterbirth events, where people could kill monsters and get pieces for the Spined, Rock-Shell and Skeletal armours. These were successful, so we are open to more high level events once in a while. It would be appreciated if you could write in the above sticky, as we have all the ideas collected in the same place. :)

I like the idea, but how are these to be chosen? Date of joining, post count, helpful posts, or something else? Also, unless it's post count or date of joining, I can see it creating some extra work. Not that extra work is bad, but it can be difficult to pick the "lucky ones" with nothing very specific to look for. I don't mean to sound negative, because I like the idea - I am just trying to understand what you want rewarded. :)

Laikrob.

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

No, certainly not date of joining or postcount, we don't want negative people getting the rank, we want nice, helpfull and mature people to get that rank, you basicly get it by helping other people, discussionable topics, basicly everything that helps tip it can make you get the rank.

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

Who should decide who are worthy of the rank? I still find it hard to define who are nice, helpful and mature - even more so what should determine if a person shouldn't get that rank? Again, I am not against the idea, I just want to know how it can be done in a fair way. :)

Admins, eventhough it's not up to me. The admins could develop a mentor team for example. Who basicly keep an eye on people and judge them if they should get the rank or not, just an idea, you can go many ways to decide who should have the last word on getting the rank or not. You wont get the rank if you only post negative comments, if you spam and no maturity at all (for example laughing with other people their problems)

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

True. But after all, it is an acheivement. So I don't see why people shouldn't be allowed to post their picture of their achievement in the Goals & Achievement Board.

I report ever +1 post, spam posts I see. I find them annoying. I really hate the people with 1 post that make threads with "Free items".

Man, that's why I joined Clan TET! I'm hear to help out the higher leveled players. I have always encouraged TET to go to the KBD, KQ events, but nothing every happens. Even my app for CTET was about the Chaos Elemental.

You don't get it, i mean their are to many topics floating around WITHOUT a picture in the achievement board, i suggest a rule that makes it clear if you post an achievement, that it must contain a picture of it.

Heya Zot Mutske

Thanks for your suggestions.

I would guess that approximately 85-90% of our event goers are players with combat and prayer levels too low to fight these monsters successfully. As it is, whenever we host events that require higher level quests, we spend weeks getting flamed for it.

We also have the problem that most of our hosts are not high enough levels to comfortably lead trips to these monsters. (I am willing to learn if you want to teach me to DK!) :XD:

We have a Waterbirth Island Event coming up in 1.5 weeks time, although we won't be going all the way to the kings, its a start. One of the main problems with the DK's are that to go there you really need to work as a team, and with a mass of event goers (who don't often listen to instructions) :P , and the higher risk of death (as you know that you need to make sure you don't lure the kings to the wrong areas). This would work better as a Tipiter or Clan TET Event rather than TET.

The KQ, KBD and Chaos Elemental have been approached as an event that TET AU are hosting next month as a suicide mission/visit as a test run. If it goes down well, we will most likely run more events of this kind, and expand to a main TET Event.

Discussion Of The Week, Achievement Of The Month, many forums have this and it woulnd be a bad case if we had this to.

This is nice, would encourage people to make smarter topics. We sort of have this with the "Hot Topic" link from the website, but maybe have this as a sticky on rules yeah.
