Putting a Stop to Autoers.

Hey, Instead of just banning the autoer account, couldn't Jagex ban the IP address of the autoer?

The banning of an autoer isn't exactly going to scare them away, since they can just make many more and do it again. Could Jagex do this? =P~

By the way, in case you all want to know, There are about 20-30 Autoers every night past 12:00 south of Melzar's Maze in rimmington, so Go report them. :ohnoes:

If you want to, please post areas where alot of autoers are sure to gather, so that people can read and report them as much as possible, thanks! \'

So, you gonna QUIT?

This solution has been punted around for eons, but it still can't work. Macroers and goldfarmers will simply use a proxy to change their IP address.

These are directly take from Rants about Macroers/Autoers Sticky in the Runescape offical forums.

So they do IP ban but as they say it doesn't work.

Actually we ban about 8000 accounts a week for macroing.

It's next to impossible to get away with these days. That doesn't mean they don't keep trying, (making new accounts and trying again), but they're not getting away with it. Why do you think the vast majority of the accounts you see these days are only level-3? It's because they've only just made them!

The only problem now is in the time between them creating the account and us catching them (And we do catch them!) We're working on further measures to reduces even that small window.

-We already do IP banning. It's not massively effective because many people can change IP, but it does help a bit.

-We also already have ways of finding and banning their mains/mules, and regularly do. We have a team of people doing just that to make sure they don't get away with it.

Don't worry we are working on the problem, and we are banning people. There are also more updates planned to hit them even harder, and cut the problem further. We just don't normally announce such updates these days. It used to be a 'mass ban of 10,000 players' would make the news on the front page, wheras we now ban that many every week so don't even mention it. Which goes to show how far we've progressed in this.

Thank you for posting with that information. I really hope Jagex can find a way to stop autoers for good sometime in the future.

In the mean time, continue to post your thought, and, if you know some autoing spots, feel free to post those as well!

So, you gonna QUIT?

I remeber seeing one post on the RS forums saying that everytime the person logs into the computer, they have a program that changes their IP.

Well, I think that banning the account helps a lot lol, I mean to get to lvl 60/75 is quite hard, and so yew autoers have been reduced dramatically.

While air crafting with a few of my friends, we report the autoers at the yew tree below Falador, and there was a huge decrease in them =)
