Macroing, what do you really know about it? Well let me tell you just what it has been doing to the game since this problem has come.

 

 

 

Macroers have destroyed the economy, with many using the money they gain to sell for real life money. But they have also killed the economy by lowering prices of everything. This is not just yew logs, planks, normal/pure ess. But it is also whips, dragon chains, barrows sets, everything! Because of macroers people can buy for less, so they have more money, and then prices for everything slowly drops to the point the item is basically the same price as other items even though it is much better.

 

 

 

So what can we do about this? Jagex only bans accounts, that does not do anything, I have seen 5 macroers with the exact same name except for the number at the end of his name.

 

 

 

So, my suggestion. I think that anytime jagex bans an account, it should record the IP. If the an IP address receives more than 1 ban the IP should be banned from making new accounts permanently. This way the person would have to change his IP to get a new account.

 

 

 

Now for anyone who does not know what an IP is. It stands for Internet Protocol. It is your identification when you get on the internet, kind of like a phone number. It is a set of 4 numbers divided by a period. Example - 222.111.22.222 and then it has the internet you are using special port address after it.

And Jagex already does IP bans. :XD:

then they sure don't work very well, i report an average of 20 macroers a day

Unless you are a member of Jagex staff, you don't have a bloody clue as to how much work they put into getting rid of macroers. I wouldn't reccomend you go saying they aren't doing a very good job, because they are in fact doing much better than most people could have hoped for. You just don't realise it.

 

 

 

And it's not only macroers that are the problem.. It's also the gp farmers.

look, all i know is the problem is getting worse and worse, not better and better, I have been playing since runescape classic. And i know there were vertialy no macroers in classic, and now each year the problem is getting worse and worse. Just stand in any world in varrock east bank, look how many lvl 3's in the cloths you start the game with on are running ess/planks.

You talk to me as if I'm some noob that's never seen a macroer before... I know what they are, for God's sake. We all know the problems.

 

 

 

And the only reason that the problem is getting worse, is because every day, more software is developed to get around Jagex's security blocks.

I personally don't see why the topic's still open. I think it's great that you know the problem of macroers is out there, and you want to do something about it, but we don't need another topic about it... Especially since this isn't really a suggestion, since IP bans are already in use.

Punkbuster, its used in all major online games to try and stop hackers, and it does a dang good job. I wounder if there would be anyway to have it help stop macroers.

Jagex does a hell of a job banning autoers, and IP's can be switched easier than we switch cloths, IP bans are useless.

Hackers are different from macroers. Macroes are just programs that make your character play by itself. A firewall can't stop that. :

I'm going to lock this because Jagex already does IP bans against serious rulebreakers, unfortunately some manage to go around it still though.
