*welcome to my guide for hallying/ranging black dragons

 

if you are looking for the Fastest way to kill black dragons this is not it

 

however if you are looking for the Cheapest way to kill black dragons this is it

 

the best place to hally them is evil chickens lair to get in go to zanaris and use a raw chicken on the shrine near the entrance

 

you must have started the sir amak varse part of rfd quest

 

 

 

What to bring:

 

Armor: I would recomend rune if hallying and a warrior helm, if ranging wear the best dhide you can or karils

 

 

 

Shield: Anti-dragon or Dragonfire shield

 

 

 

Weapon: i would recomend a dragon hally and a mage long even if your hallying, for ranging i would recomend rune cross bow with mith or better bolts

 

 

 

Invintory:

 

For Melle: mage long, 100 or so bronze/iron arrows, 5-6 monkfish incase something goes wrong. and a raw chicken to get into lair

 

For ranging:1k or so arrows preferably mith or above and every thing listed above

 

Here is a map of the lair (i know its nuuby but it works)

 

 

 

 

There are 3 hally/range spots labeled on the map by a blueish dot and a number near them

Tactics:

 

Well you stand at one of the hally spots (i recomend #3) and equip your mage long and shoot an arrow at the nearest dragon then when they get near hally them

otherwise it takes a lot longer to kill them... :

and i would recommend: rune or better!

edit:, you wont have enough arrows if you only take 100, and i would recommend also to take steel or higher using ava's accumulator.

 

(note the accumulator doesnt work at all places stated.)

i said chicken on the first part and 100 or so weak arrows are for mellein to get the drag close to you

pick up the addy javelins, if they do drop them

 

those are free and abundant luring tools for ya :)

 

 

 

oh yea, you forgot to tell people to pick up the black d hides and bones they drop, i often see people dont pick up the hides, which i am (too) happy to collect for them :lol:

 

 

 

 

 

also, add that safe spot 1 dont work with the "grey" dragon and the "rhino" dragon

 

 

 

safe spot 2 is a bit tricky to use, not recommend

 

 

 

there is also 2 other safe spots opposite to safe spot 1, behind the middle rock, which can be hally and can use against all dragons

 

 

 

for ranging, i would not say arrows are the cheapest way to go... the cheaper way to do, would be using rune c' bow

 

a combination of emerald (e) bolts + dragon hally for specs + lower level bolts as main weapon. that way is way cheaper... for faster ammo collecting, change the main weapon into crystal bow

 

 

 

2 sharks + 1 teleport tab is way enough for emergences... (that is the standard package for double nature running... and you can always use protect from melee, when you really screwed up)

 

 

 

i would also like to say that, for melee, bring helm of neitiznot / warrior, fighter torso, rune boot, best rfd gloves, best cape you have there

 

 

 

for range, karils do nothing at all, bring archers helm, black d hide, snake skin boots, best rfd gloves, ava's accumlator (important)

 

 

 

also, while you are in lumbridge, harvest a lot of raw chicken in your bank, so you dont have to run back

diamond bolts and a rune crossbow would work good if your 70+ ranging. might take some emmy bolts to poison too. hope this helps :thumbsup:

Well, safespot 1 dosn't ALWAYS work. Neither does 2. Luckily i put on my dragonfire sheild fast enough.

 

 

 

Anways, for hallying and ranging, you want the best accuracy, so I recomment fighters hat, and penence torso. For ranging, DO NOT USE UR KARILS. It degrades even if ur not getting hit. Karils is for hybriding in wildy. D hide is for this. The diference between karils and blk d hide is that karils has slightly less magic def, and a lil mo re melee. Blk d hide gives i believe slightly higher range bonus.

Pantim, both black d hide and Karils give the same range bonus. Karils is only better because ALL of the defensive bonuses are higher.
