I've heard about this method, but I've never tried it. I have 81 mage, a lot of blood runes, and a strong desire to do barrows. How does this compare with the slayer dart method? How exactly does it work? Do you use mage boosting or melee armor?

If you got alot of bloods I'd suggest getting 82 mage and going for it with the ancient ice mage method, especially if you never barrowed before.

i tried but it wastes a lot of space trust me and you don't really make much back either from barrows, you get maybe 38 bloods max 81 per barrow trip, IF you get bloods

 

plus god spells can hit hard but it's a big waste, magic dart is pretty basic, and super cheap but requires a big 55 slayer

 

besides with verac anti prayer thing, it kinda stinks though, entangle is recommended sometimes and bring melee def definitely for monsters, magic attack is highly recommended

The main reason that God/Ancient spells aren't used very often is that you will not get enough Bloods back to cover the amount that you use. If you have enough Bloods already, give it a shot.

It kills them insanely quick..good to do in a while if you've been using the same methode for 50+ runs

no it doesnt give message when its over but from what i heard it last 2-3 mins,im not quite sure some 1 will have to confirm duration

I guess you never used charge, because it does give you a message when it wears off....

My friend with 87 mage did it. All you do is use Entangle, Charge, and your God Spell. Then when he can move again, hide behind coffin and do Entangle again. Similar to the ice burst method.

average profit of 29k per run. Which seems comparable to slayer dart, given that this is faster per run.

It's more expensive, but it goes faster. Your max hit is increased by 20-25 (depending on your magic level). It is also recommended that you use Claws of Guthix and a Void knight scepter. It is more expensive though.
