CHEAPST AND MOST EFFECIENT WAY TO TRAIN MAGE?????

Cheapest: failing curses. Keep your magic attack as low as possible (full metal armor, vambraces, fancy/fighting boots, water/earth staff) and cast curses. Best spots are in the Varrock sewers across the river, or the caged Zamorak monk under the stairs in Varrock castle.

Most Efficient: Crumble Undead over the river in Varrock sewers, High Alchemy, Fire strikes or Bolts at Lesser Demons (need decent mage for that last one).

The most efficient can get a little pricey though.

Make mind and and air runes. Buy a fire staff. Cast fire strike on white knights and hide behind the tables. Then once you got a decent mage level make some money and buy chaos/death runes.

Sorry, but there is NO cheapest way which is most EFFICIENT

Cheap way: failing curses, as others have said. body runes are pretty easy to get easily (~3 ea in rune shops as NOBODY buys them. I don't recommand crafting them yourself. You can only get 28 body if your rune craft lvl<46). Make your own runes (water/earth, depending on your RC lvl) and buy a elemental staff(either water or earth. You can't get access to mud staff lol). Train on caged Zammy monk at Varrock/Chaos temple over the ditch.

Pro: pretty cheap

Con: you get no hitpoint exp

I used curse to lvl up from lvl37 to lvl52 (i will continue until i hit lvl55 mage, which i will switch to high alch) =P~ =P~ [/b]

Efficient way: teleport to Lumbridge / Cumble undead / fire bolt

Pro: pretty quick

Con: You burn all your money quick. Law costs 350ea while chaos cost 150ea in f2p. No decent way of obtaining lots of them except buying them

Efficient + Cheap way :D : high alch. Make your steel platebody and buy nature runes in World 1. High alch all of them to get a decent profit!

OR you can buy rune med helm for 10k ea for high alch

Pro: very quick

Con: not much to high alch in f2p, need high smithing (lvl48) and decent mining lvl if you choose to make your platebody effectively and high alch them. Again, you get NO hitpoint exp

Currently taking a break from Runescape

can sum 1 plz tell me the cheapst way and most effeciant to train mage on a f2p acc from lvl 31

You have gotten several very good answers above.

Consider this:

(Mind) Fire Strike averages about 19 per cast

(Body) Failed Curse always gives 29 per cast

(Chaos) Fire Bolt averages about 34 per cast

(Chaos) Crumble Undead averages about 39 per cast

Mind and Body runes cost around 30 gp per cast

Chaos runes cost around 100 gp per cast.

So, overall Failed Curses is very cost efficient.

However, you can get far more exp per cast with Telporting and Hi-alching.

So, Hi-alching is a very time efficient (but expensive) way to level.

Slow and cheap or fast and expensive. Your choice.

(FWIW, I got to level 81 magic in F2P)

Hope this helps
