REHAB IS FOR QUITTERS

Recommended Posts

:? After three years of playing I've finally decided to quit the wonderful distraction called runescape. Why you ask? Well, let me tell you my story.

About three years ago, I was fourteen years old, my older brother and I were sent to school in west africa (we live in the united states). After a few months there, I started getting homesick, missing American food, my friends, and especially my family. In America, I felt like I'd been someone. "Here everyone is the same as me. I am in no way unique" i thought. I enjoyed myself most when I was allowed to talk to my little brother. We'd just catch up, and thats the way it was for a few months. Until one day, my youger brother suggested runescape. Our dialup connection was super slow so runescape was the only thing that would ever work.

At first, I had so much fun playin runescape with my brother. It was as if our roles had completely reversed. He was the older, omniciescient, all seeing brother and I was, just a noob. Still we had a lot of fun. We would pk together at bandits and he would cook anchovy pizza. We'd work on our pures and i'd help him cart lobsters from kramja (however you spell that). After a while, I was on alot more than he was, he told me he had plans to quit, but I begged him to stay, sucking him back into it. So I continued that way for the next few months, shirking my responsibilities to play runescape. Little did I know something inside me had been changed for life.

I remember comming home on the weekends wanting nothing more than to play runescape. Just getting changed and pratcially living in front of the computer...

Well, I digress, back to the story. After school finished, I started to spend more and more time in front of the computer, one of my friends even commented that my skin was starting to lighten. he even asked me if I'd "bleached myself". I knew I had no self control but I just coudn't stop. My worst regret? Not playing with my dogs Puppies so that I could play runescape :notalk: .

After about eleven months in africa I came back to the United States. At first runescape was nothing to me. I was waay more interested in cable tv (only 3 channels in Ghana). But when school started I began to spend moer and more time online. A year after my arrival, my younger brother quit with me. We gave all our items to a friend and logged out. He never logged back in to play. I did. :wall: .

I continued to play for a few months when I noticed that my hair was falling out. I went to the doctors and they told me that I had a scalp infection. It takes 3-6mths to clear up. I thought "What I can't show my face around anywhere). :anxious: So up until now I've been recluced in my house, wasting my summer away playing runescape.

:P Three years of my life....gone. And I'm not blaming jagex, my parents, the guy next door. It was me. I chose to waste my time like that. I wasted my life.

And I've decided to take it back so on July 25, 2007, I' decided to quit runescape and give away everything I own.

After about three years of playing, I have nothing to show. -.-

So I've decided to create a day by day blog on my progress. If anyone else is quitting they may post to. Or you can just post in your support. Please, please don't flame.

Thanks.

Good luck. Everyone quits, and it's usually the same reason as yours.

Dunno if this is the kind of blog that is meant for here though. O_o

good luck, every quits, im always half quitted rs sorta, i take lng breaks from it. sorta what i do, idk about quittig though, im only playing when its liek raining or something. Thats a reason why MY skin at least isnt getting any paler  ive played for 2 years but as i said eairlier, when i have nothing to do. if u come back to runescape, try using my tactic, when u have nothig abselutely NOTHING to do, then play runescape and go on tip.it, right now i have nothing to do, its dark and goig to rain, theres nothing good on tv and my dogs takign a nap. This is when im on the computer until i have somthing to do. Try doing this and ull be OK. Ive acculay though about quitting 1nce or twice buti realize that i unlike many people, dont get addicted to runescape, i cannot get addicted to a video game for some reason :-s its a ood gift and u should try not to get addicted to runescape because the people that do, theyre always on the computer non-stop, they just wont stop, eventually they have to wear glasses and all their doing is wasting away days of their life. so dont be one of these people and dont get addicted to runescape. It will do yourself a big favor. Well that is, if u come back to runescape. If u dont, find something to do when u dont have anything to do like a fun hobby that doesnt involve a addicting video game. because the things that some people dont even realze is that runescape is just a game, ot like it's real. and your just wasting away your life if your one of these people.

if u read this, i hope u dont get addicted to runescape. Because remember, its just a game.

Im sick of this. When people quit they leave some long post telling us how Runescape is such a waste of time, how it was a big mistake to play it, etc.

Why write some sort of blog on it? TBH nobody cares.

GL anyway, but thats my brutally honest opinion of these annoying threads.

Sorry for flaming, but saying "please dont flame" will deter nobody.

Well good luck in real life. I hope you may come back in the future to chat for an hour or so, if it has to be that little. Or if its going to get you addicted that way, never come back.

Either way, have a great life..

I second this one. If you got it all figured you, why don't you just let us come around to your infailable opinion?

Well, I'm a runescape player and a good one (all quest completed :P) I must say that RuneScape isnt a waste of time, if just to be in a good moment with on-line friends, etc. But when you get addicted, I mean you stop going out, and only play RuneScape, it can be a waste of time because the idea of the game is to have fun, but not to lose your life, I mean it's only a game, I play this because I like it, but I still hang out with my real life friends. So in conclusion RuneScape isn't a waste of time, unless you get addicted and give up your life for it, remember that there is a whole world out there, not everything is to be in a computer
