The Essential U2 Collection for a Poor Boy?....

Featured Replies

I have started getting into U2 ever since I bought u218 Singles. Anyway I was wondering what are the essential U2 albums and/or songs for a cash strapped American teen? I was thinking about getting 80-90, 90-2000, and Achtung Baby.

Wow you are right-- there are only three good songs on How to Dismantle... - Vertigo, All Because of You, and Fast Cars. Thanks for warning me (and thank you Youtube for having songs for free viewing). I'm going to go have a "talk" with my friend.

Hi.

The Joshua Tree is by far and away their best album in my opinion. It's a genuine classic.

"Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

Achtung Baby. Skip that song that starts with an O and ends with an E. There's only one letter inbetween and it has been recentely covered by Mary J. Blidge. Huuu. I hate it.

I like that song :(

I hate that song too. The best version is Automatic Baby's cover. Automatic Baby was a supergroup of Michael Stipe, Mike Mills (R.E.M.'s vocalist and bassist, respectively), Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. (U2's bassist and drummer, respectively) Watch this video of their only live performance-
