Banshees, Aberrant Spectres and Gargoyles are aggressive.

Well, that's true for City guards, most Dwarves, White knights, etc

Attacking a player will depend on level and/or aggressiveness.

 

 

 

Some low levels alwats attack (ghosts in wildy)

 

Some med levels never attack first (White knights)

 

 

 

So, it varies, consult the Tip It Bestiary to get more info on creatures.

Some monsters are always passive, but you know that. Aggressive monsters will stop attacking once your combat lvl is monster's lvl times 2, plus 1 [(lvl*2)+1].

 

 

 

And somebody already answered your Slayer Tower thing.

Outside of the wildy, non-agressive monsters won't attack you unless you start the fight, and agressive ones always attack you first unless you've been in the area for around 15 minutes and/or your level is more than twice theirs. Monsters in wildy will always attack you first, unless you've been in the area for the same 15 minutes.
