Is it legal?

Featured Replies

I took a break from RS for a bit, but when I left there were large debates and the official rules changed several times on the legality of programs like SwiftSwitch. One of my friends said I should use one, but I want to know it's legal to use before I start considering it.

I'm not asking your personal opinion is it safe or not to use and stuff like that, I want the facts on the official ruling.

~Thanks

message Jagex and ask. Idk but imho I'm not gonna use a single program in conjunction with RS cause I don't want to risk my account.

If you go to the rules page on the Runescape website and click on the one about third party software there is a bunch of stuff on what makes certain programs legal or illegal.

~HOORAY FOR BEING MUTED!~

There was a big debate for a little while over if SS is legal or not.

Turns out the creator of SS, Strider, had a discussion with Jagex and has proof on his site of Jagex saying SS is legal.

SS is legal, and to all those who say its unsafe to use, I have been using it for about a year and a half now and my account has never been hacked. (Knock on wood) The only thing SS is guilty of is making my runescaping experience easier and more conveinient, I believe Jagex realized that and therefore it is legal.

Apparently, my signature was to big.
