Ditch the splash screen they are pointless, annoying and waste space.

When I go to a website I want to go directly to the content, I dont want to have to click to enter somehting that should automaticly load.

nope, ive got broadband 1mbit at home and 10 at work.

But i still hate splash screens. I mean it doesnt even fit on a 1024x768 res without sideways scroll bars. a huge no no in the web design world.

LP... calm down, he was only giving you advice, which is very true. They are pointless and waste time, for us and you, its much better for you to spend more time on the actual layout.

and yes, 1024x768 and bellow is very common. I personaly use 1600x1200, but i still am not a fan of it.

overall, you have to be able to take critisim if you make a post showing something

I think the picture thing is pretty cool. But I am one for the content,

and well theres not any yet.

I'll wait until the site is finished before I give you my full opinion...

And if you want others to view your site, please keep in consideration those who don't have the best of stuff to view it with...

my art is detailed, so if someone with low res were to come in anyway, it wouldnt look very good, less colors.. ect, as for content, working on it now, some of it at least. just trying to get the basics down for the site, prolly wont be dont till i have a good ammount of things to put on it.

if only u knew what im goin to do, its not gunna be like to stupid sites that there lil' tabs u click and it goes to another page, its gunan keep a theme... all the way through. the screen is just part of that theme

Still, its unecisary. You can still keep a good matching site all the way through.

btw, simplicity is king. Especialy in layouts alot of time. If you go and try to fill it up with abstracts and stuff it will just look... well bad and unprofesional (not saying you will do this, but just helping out 'incase you do) a good, clean layout is the best way to go. put work into the banner, and then have a layout that matches the style, but in a simplistic way :)

and you always want to think about other people with slower conections, ect. do you realy want your site to only apeal to like 20% of people who look at it? I don't think so.

kind of like that im gunna base all the things inside of that one abstract. links, ect.. its gunna be like flash based... but with html, so that the bandwith is fine and you wont be downloading much.

what i am trying to say is hard to explain, i need to update it soon so u understand more.
