I am currently 60 herblore and am aiming to get to about 65 - 70.

What would you recommend to use to lvl up, whgihc wouldn't be too slow and make minimal loses/maximum profit?

prayer pots...buy the rannars and make the pots (snape grass from waterbirth island and the vials from adrougne or tavelry or shilo village) you wont make a lot of profit but if you get 300gp per pot....times that by 100 you got 30k profit :-)

or...harrlander...buy chocolates from lumbridge bank(the basement) and buy harrlanders...a little loss but a lot of exp...or make tar

The best way is to buy unids using the anti-scam method, make potions from the better herbs and sell the others.

Just sort of adding on to what the above users posted, but..

Unfortunately, the slowest methods are the ones with minimal loses. All of the fast methods are incredibly expensive. Your best bet would be to either make prayer potions like anish00b suggested or to buy unids like qeltar suggested. Should you choose to buy unids, I would recommend buying all unids for 1k ea. Identify as many as you can and use all the herbs you want. Then sell the herbs you don't want for their market price, and sell the herbs you can't identify for 2k - 2.5k ea. If you get lucky with the unids you get, you may even make a profit ;)

But something you should remember is that to cut back on your loss, farm as many herbs as you can (and even limps too, if you plan on using those). It will pay off in the end

Thanks for the advice

Combing wat u guys said and my clans idea I figured I do prayer pots via farming.

After all 1 rannar seed = 30 - 40k

And it will yeild around 8 - 12 rannars

Meaning 64k - 96k of ppot (if sold 8k ea)

Very rough numbers obv but works out to gd profits and not 2 slow for herblore xp.

Luckily i got lots of super compost and fertile soil runes stocked up plus magic secs so shouldn't have 2 many die or get to many low yeilds

average loot from herb patch is 6-8 herbs. 8 is quite often but anything above that, consider yourself lucky. I made super att potions from all irits i farmed. You can easily get seeds for 2k ea. Newt eyes are barely 150 ea and vials 200 ea. If you average 6 (thats my bet) to make all 6 potions will cost you around 5k and even selling them 1k ea yous till make profit. That was my way to lvl 70 herb.

1500+ total 89 cmb; 1600+ total and under 93 cmb.

02/04/07 reached all skills 60+ under lvl 90 cmb.

07/19/07 reached all skills 70+ at lvl 93 cmb.

Prayer is good for herbs

You could try the "8 coal 7 herbs" Managing Thy Kingdom method to get herbs. You'd make a small profit from selling the coal, but I doubt that itt would cover the costs of second ingredients, and you would have several different herbs..

With super compost an average herb patch yields 8 - 12

With magic secs you get 10% bonus on your yield.

but still 5+ per patch covers seed costs

i would suggest going in the yannille dungeon and killing either the chaos druids or, with high enough agility, salarin the twisted. if you kill salarin i suggest you bring a whip along with an air staff and a bunch of minds so that after you kill him, you can get other herbs from the surrounding druids. good luck

edit: sorry i may have been vague about salarin, he has a chance of dropping the sinister key that will get you 9 herbs from a chest. get 3 keys and bring an anti poison. when you first cross the gap and look west there will be a tunnel. go in that and open the chest 3 times and then drink your anti.

Where did you get this as a fact? Be assured that for mass herbfarming 5 to 6 herbs as the average yield must be taken to calculate max. prices for herbseeds.. Players who pay more cant use seeds for mass farming. They like wasting time at the herbpatch watching the herb grow for a bit of profit.... (or they just can't do their math...)

Well personally in my herb farming experience have received an average yield of 8 -12 per supercompost patch with magic secs on

Lowest I had was 5

Highest was 15 (ish)

But everytime I've done it I've had average of 8 - 12 per patch

I dont know how many herbsruns you did already, but let us say, you can make an 'educated guess' after a few 100 runs minimum? (runs being; all 4 or 5 herbpatches checked ). If you did this and 8-12 is your average yield, consider yourself very, very lucky. If death herbs are included in your average yield, you are extremely, extremely lucky...

Bottom line; dont expect this average yield for your next 1000 runs and more...

Well it was my average last time i did farming.

This time round I seem to be averaging 5 - 9

Still good.

In fact this time round so far I had 5 - 9 from every patch except 1 dead.

I guess farming got altered yield wise in past year
