September 12, 200718 yr I have thought a suggestion that could help us here at Rune Tips. Topic of the week. This idea is not really new, but could boost up the quality of GD (= General Discussion). The last years most of the topics are about repetitive subjects, things that have been discussed over and over again (eg. F2P vs P2P) etc. A topic of the week could be helpful, because users who really try to discuss RuneScape on a good and original way could be rewarded. Anyway, this idea is different from the "Hot topic", because it would be announced in a sticky on GD and users could nominate their favorite/most original topic. The idea is similar as achievement of the month, but could be hosted weekly due to the many topics on GD.
September 12, 200718 yr Well it is almost the same as the hot-topic, and I don't realy see haw it will be any different than the hot topic. And maybe 'User Chosen Hot-Topic'?
September 12, 200718 yr Author Umm.. That is exactly what the Hot-Topic that you see posted in the news section of the website is... No. The hot topic is not only from GD discussion, it can be on every board. This idea will be purely implented for GD boards, and will be by nomination of the users.
September 12, 200718 yr It might be a little confusing when there's two topics being promoted by Tip.It. It really sounds like a copy, with some added features of the 'Hot Topic'. Perhaps improve 'Hot Topic'?
September 13, 200718 yr The "hot topics" are topics that are chosen by the staff that have become popular through user posts. Hot topics are meant to boost the popularity of an already popular topic; which I'm not saying is bad, infact it's a good thing. Unfortunely making a topic a "hot topic" will not necessarly increase the quality of the posts in that topic. I think hot topics were just made to increase the popularity of a discussion and nothing else(correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not familiar with the inner-workings of the site staff). Perhaps every once and a while the staff could choose an interesting less-commonly dicussed topic(e.g. I really enjoyed the bull dog one, that was an awesome discovery and could spark some serious dicussion). Very awesome idea, Gamerr, keep 'em coming! By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it.
