That guide still works fine. I tried it out today, and had no problems.

 

Using a crossbow with mithril bolts is more effective than karil's bow or crystal bows, as most people have said on Muggiwhplar's discussion thread.

 

Somewhere around page 35 there's an ASCII safespot drawing as well..

&&& :: Here you will find a skeleton. Here you will be protected from any spawn except 33

 

 

 

Explanation:

 

Spawn (11):: Will get stuck at point 1, and you cannot be harmed as long as you stay behind the wall.

 

 

 

Spawn (22) and (44):: Will get stuck at poin 24, allowing you to range it safely

 

 

 

Spawn (33):: This is the problem spot. If you are unlucky enough to get a 180 to spawn here, its time to dance. Basically, you will run to point 24, then to point 1. Quickly run to point 3, then back to your safespot. This should effectivly place the 180 somewhere around the middle (22) spawn (con*.)

 

 

 

### :: Run to this corner if a monster range/mages you from too far away to retaliate against. The monster will come closer, and you can range it safely again.

FYI: I have yet to go for Jad, but I plan to when I get a few more stats.

 

 

 

I did however take a look at some strategy yesterday since I realized the big diagonal change. I went into the corner this guy suggested and it worked alright. However I used all the other safe spots (all I know about). And I think it is best to operate out of the north west corner. When using the south west you can't see very well what spawns in the "bad" spawn. (I think listed as 33) However in the north west corner you are on the top of the hill and it is mostly flat so you can see what is near you very quickly and react immediately and go to the claw or italy rock. What do you think?
