Sound issues with xbox 360 on computer speakers

Okay, I bought an xbox 360, bought the cable so you can use it with a computer monitor and sound, and it works well and all, but the sound coming from my speakers is, well, borked.

It's simply really crackly for who knows why. My PC games sounds work fine with the speakers. The sound isn't choppy or anything, just a bit too crackly for certain sounds.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Original Topic:I'm just wondering, is there any kind of computer monitor you can use a console with, or maybe an adapter of some sort so you can?

I have two television sets, of which, one has a decent sized screen but is used to watch often so I wouldn't put a console on there, and the second, which is small and in a rather bad location for a console, and will not be moved. (I won't explain in anymore detail why)

So... if I were to buy a console, is there any way, and I mean any way, to make it work with a computer monitor? (I have been considering buying a xbox 360, if you want a specific console..)

why would a sytem meant for high definition tvs work on a computer monitor.

YOu can hook up consoles to use them on the internet (xbox live, wiiconnect24), but stuff still plays on the tv screen.

No. HD computer is not yet around.

i have no idea what he is talking about, but it should be easy. If the monitor is a DVI monitor, all you need is a cheap adapter like This , just make sure you get one of the newer 360's with HDMI outputs. If the monitor is a vga monitor, then you will need some other adapter.

um... HD computer monitors are around... I own one. capable of 720p and 1080i, and there is a more expensive version of mine that hits 1080p

Yes, you can hook up consoles to a computer monitors. If the monitor has HDMI, VGA, or Component input (red, green, blue) you can hook it up, or any other input.

As long as the system offers that output. Newer 360's have HDMI and with ps3 it comes standard I believe. 360's also have VGA output, and Component. It's just a matter of purchasing the adapters, or cables.

All computer monitors running above 1280x720 or around there, could be considered high definition.

So please don't go around spreading information that which is false, because you have no idea what you are talking about.

The xbox 360 is Hd so I imagine it has a DVI-I socket (HD is normally DVI-I, 5 composite cable, or an HDMI output on some computers with vista). There is a DVI-I to VGA adapter, I imagine those work in reverse. So if there is a DVI-I output on the 360, you'll need an adapter (to VGA) to conect to an anolog monitor (CRT type and some LCD's use VGA), or just a standared DVI-I cable for digital LCD monitors.

All things considered the HDMI is proboly what the 360 has, though most HDMI cables have a DVI-I on the other end. So it might plug right inot your monitor or you may need a VGA>/DVI-I adapter (which I assume works both ways).

Hope this helps.
