nerdattack16
A new goal I recently thought of. Fire Cape. That elusive cape of power, wearable only through hours of intense combat with RuneScape's deadliest monsters. I want one, and I want it bad. My first attempt at the Fight Caves will be only ranged: 70 ranged, 70 defence, 60 prayer, and 74-76 hitpoints. I'll have a budget of around 2 million GP or so. Items/equipment that I have/can get without using the budget (hopefully): Verac's helm, Karil's top, Verac's skirt, Rune crossbow, Unholy book, and black vambraces. I want to know what sort of bolts I need, and how many; also, what should I wear in the ring, amulet, cape, and boot slot? Also, should I use a Karil's crossbow instead of Rune + unholy book? Note that I will not get a crystal bow, I'm just too cheap. :P Any different recommendations to my armor? What amount of Saradomin brews/super restores should I take at those levels? Yes, I've read Muggi's guide. He didn't specify some things I wanted to know though, and it doesn't hurt to check with many different people. :) Sig credit goes to ThruItAll. :D
geesch
i would say bring 3-5k mith bolts or better, and 100 addy bolts with ruby tips enchanted (i think thats it, correct me if i am wrong). ring you could do any of the dk rings, but archer ring might be best. glory or fury for the ammy. for cape, bring anyone you want, but the best (not a big help though) is a skill cape, skill cape (t) or obby cape. boots go for rune or dragon boots. good luck, but i would definitely use muggi's guide, its the best :)
nerdattack16
Well, I can certainly do rune boots and a glory. Can't do a DK ring though, that 2 million budget has to include bolts and potions needed. I guess I'll bring a recoil. Yes, I am, by most standards, "poor." I was thinking 2,000-3,000 diamond (e) bolts with an accumulator, and 50-100 ruby (e) for the 360s and Jad. I wanna go for the cape and my prayer and defense stats are a bit higher, and my range is the same. So, if it works for you, it'll work for me too. :D Cowards can't block Warriors. nerdattack16
Well, I've only the done the very beginning of RFD, and besides, black vambraces are the second best range attack gloves you can get besides Barrows gloves. Still on the lookout for more advice. My friend suggested a bolt pouch, maybe I could store my "secondary" bolts in there - ruby [e], a few emerald [e], maybe even a few dragonstone [e]? Nopheo
Everyone refers back to Muggi's guide but is his guide outdated now?
Wachtwoord
I'd suggest a granite shield instead of a zammy book, it's cheap and the range attacks are actually your biggest thread (besides Jad himself). Also don't expect to get it in one try, because you probably won't. Get some extra supplies. (Another tip is to make your own bolts or potions, I used emerald tipped mithril bolts, mined the bars myself with superheat in Lumby swamp and I already had a bunch of emeralds in my bank.) When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+
Nopheo
I would use zammy book over granite because as he said the only reason for granite is the 90s but the zammy book will help you kill EVERYTHING faster, which saves pots and things in the long run.
