For all you rangers out there (P2P ones anyway) go buy the bone crossbow for around 1k (in Lumby dungeon) and unlimited bone bolts (4gp ea!). I tested them out last night and with pot and pray I hit 23's. yes you read correctly 23!!! They shoot faster imo than normal xbows, and the bolts are equivelant to between addy/rune bolts/arrows. Cheap range training anyone? I now have 50k of these beauties ready to fire.

I don't think your info for the bone crossbow is correct; I'm range 83 and I hit 25-27 with addy bolts without prayer or pot. You're range 93 and hit 23 WITH prayer and pot. They're probably more equivalent to bronze/iron bolts.

My max hit with rune arrows with pray/pot is around 23-24, not sure about bolts though coz I have only ever used enchanted ones, so the higher hits are most likely due to the spec hitting (50+ with dstone tips!) Still, like you said, a very cheap range training method, better than stocking up on bronze arrows at 7gp each!

that crossbow only handles up to iron bolts. so, seems like the ammo should be close to that.

the dorgeshuun crossbow costs 2k, the bone bolts cost 4 each, at infinite amount..

 

 

 

im testing at pest control right now, and my max seems to be 20 (lvl 92 range + eagle eye), I can hit fairly high (16+) most of the time.

 

 

 

who knows..this might be an effective ranging method.

 

oh btw, the crossbows just a little bit slower than the MSB, I checked in the knowledge database weapon speeds, MSB hits with 6 bars of speed whilst the xbow hits with 5.

 

 

 

anyways at pc i seem to do more overall damage i think...still needs more testing

My way that i found is buying grey wolf furs from fancy dress shop in varrok for 65 eac then selling to fur trader in varrok square 150 eac (with ring of charos) for about 2k profit a trip. \

 

 

 

 

 

 

You could already do that just stealing it, in which you actually gain exp, and make 100% profit.

 

 

 

I have stolen it and then sold for profit many times. But this is faster, makes more money and requires no skills.

I have found at PC that I do better with MSB and iron arrows than iron knives and bronze knives. I can hit a lot more often with MSB and iron arrows. I never use iron or bronze knives on anything that had defence. I personally dislike the darkbow because I rarely pk and have onyl 63 range and it isn't good for anything other than pking or dueling. I haven't tried bone bow and bolts but from the statistics i've seen its seems the cheapest way for range exp.
