Maybe it's because I have a problem talking to a person face-to-face, don't know why. And since I can't actually see the person in-game I have no problems talking to them. One thing i like about the internet is that you can check what your about to say before you say it, alot of the time in rl people at my school get mad at each because of things they said when they didnt mean it or they meant it a different way.
