I'm a heck of a lot less tolerant in Runescape than in real life.

 

Not many children seem to want to piss of an 18 year old irl, but unfortunatly having the safety of being on the internet gives kids some kind of self-righteous arrogance and belief that they can do what they want. :|

I'm shy in real life, but when it comes to RuneScape, I'm always talkin'. :)

In real life I'm pretty shy, but in RS I cyber with everyone. \

Well, I'm quiet and thoughtful, both in RS and RL. I'm usually helpful and kind, altho not overly generous with time or material means.

 

 

 

I have a theory tho, shy people tend to be more outgoing online, the jokers tend to take it to the extreme and frustrated people tend to be rude. I'm generalising a lot ofcourse, but I think those are traits that define a lot of people, and their difference between RL and RS. What they have in common is that they are insecure in their rl identity, and project it on their online self image. This usually goes on for a long time before they find out who they are comfortable being. I know I struggled like that for a long time before I was satisfied with who I was. Before you get there it will be extremely polarised if given the opportunity.

 

 

 

It doesen't have to be online, it can be anywhere you have the chance to be different. Most people will take it, and try their wings being someone else.

I'm generally a quieter person around those I don't know in real life. Though in the presence of friends, I'll talk with the best of them :)

 

 

 

 

 

In RS I'll talk to pretty much anyone, how long I'll talk with them depends on whether or not I can stand their company. Beggars last about 5 seconds >.>

I'm pretty much the same in real life and Runescape: talkative, semi-loner, correct grammar. :P I don't change much.

My personality is different on RuneScape. I am more confident like you silo. This is probably because i dont know all the people and looks cant get in the way of how you judge people. You judge people on their personality which you should really do irl. This way people are more friendly and can get on better :)

I think that I'm about the same in RS as irl. Maybe I'm a bit more shy on RS, and I joke more in RS than irl.

i'm more polite in RS, well, not exactly polite, but IRL i have a habit of speaking my mind, in a bad way, you know, the real answer to "do i look fat in these jeans?" kind of speaking my mind. :-w

I think a lot of people have an alter ego on RuneScape. I also think that this is simply natural, you act on RuneScape the way you want to act in real life. You can also act different in RuneScape without fear of being judged. (Add another point for RS on that one guys. :thumbsup: ) But yeah, i think that's pretty much it right there. That's just my point of view on the subject though.

i dont think you can compare it, since youll always react difference in a game; theres always a situation lurking around the corner where youd surprise yourself of your reaction/counteraction in a game... that you wouldnt do if it happened to you in rl

 

 

 

think about the ppl that steal from their friends... think they would seriously do that in rl? dont think so, since they know counteractions will be a bit different than in the game

More or less the same. And yes, I agree with Jem - It's hard to be funny in rs.
