99 Range + 40 Def: Any Good?

I was thinking of making an account with 99 range, 40 def, and 44 pray for PKing on P2P, and maybe a little on F2P. I would be using addy and dragon-tipped bolts.

Would the above stats and the following setup be good? He'd be about 85 combat with those stats.

I would swap the helm and kite for the painted ones, since I wouldn't lose them if I died (more profit).

Right now he's only 61 range and 1 def, so I need some comments and suggestions before I commit myself to this.

RSN is Malum_Pandus (not much to see yet). I'd probably no-life train him over the summer, which should take about 40-50 days.

A zerker ring is probably your best bet there. But since you might lose it I'd say any ring.

Also that looks like a fine set-up

I'd only be ranging, so I'd use either a recoil or ring of life :uhh:

70+ defence and 99 range is much better.

protect torags helm, and wear a painted rune kite, you won't need legs either.

40 defence wont help you at all past 60 combat, since everyone will have 60+ attack, once you get to about 70 combat people will be getting to around 70 attack.

but, ranging is really bad for a KO, so you'll do better if you keep 1 defence, get 60 attack and 85 strength so you can use a DD spec. ::'

and shouldn't this be in graveyard help and advice?

check this out man

im 75 78 42,with 94 range,48 mage (havent trained it yet :P)

im heading for like 75 99 45,with 99 range and 94 mage..

the best by far part of being low def is just get 42 so you can get void ranger full.it owns for pking, which sounds like you wanna do.

it's alot of work to get it man but trust me the 10% bonuses are awesome, plus you dont lose it if you die, like you want with that other armor.

my suggestion is 42 def,get void full, and then go along like a regular rune pure, that way you can either pk with range or melee, depending what you feel like.

Wow, even if skulled you wont lose any of your void knight equips? i might try spending the time to get that.

p.s. are the bonuses worth it? as i understand drag hide etc boosts your chance of hitting, but void knight boosts your damage?

Is that supposed to be pking gear, or training gear?

If training switch it up with more dhide + wealth/archer ring.

If pking, it looks good atm, just throw on a recoil.

I say 40 def 99 range is a nice combination. It still allows you to possibly go all out tank, or even switch it up to zerker or barrows pure. ::'

Thanks for replying guys. I guess I'll get 42 def through quests, get full void, and see how that works. If I get KOed too often or get hit too much, I'll try out 70 def or maybe even 75 (for dfs).

This was meant to be my PKing gear. My training gear will either be ranger set, archer, etc, or full void (idk, I'll make a new thread about that :P)

As for getting some att and str, idk, I had a 80 90 45, but I gave it away like last year :wall:

you have to decide if you want to be barrows pure or range tank if barrows pure then 99atack and str with 70defence annd 70pray

if range tank 99range 99def 52prayer 99hp

atm range tanks own the wildy since they have high defence and high ofensive stat(99range) and hit very high with rune crossbow im not even talking about the dark bow :ohnoes: :uhh: spec so its up to you to decide
