Regicide Frustration

I am stuck on distilling Naptha to complete the quest.

 

 

 

I already gone through 3 barrels of tar and about 30 chunks of coal Currently on my way back to get more tar. I've read that part of the guide and tried to follow the directions with no success. Does anyone have some suggestions as to how this process is supposed to work? I'm really stuck. :wall:

1. Use the barrel of coal tar with the still.

 

2. Click operate.

 

3. Add two or three coal. The heat bar will rise.

 

4. Click the tar regulator (twice) until the knob is to the right of the wheel. Do not let the heat gauge fall much lower than the green region.

 

5. Watch the pressure, and if it starts going up towards green, click to make the knob go to the top of the wheel.

 

6. Continue adding coal (about two or three every few seconds), and keep the heat around the green/ red area, and the tar should begin coming out as a green bar.

 

7. Click the tar regulator wheel, so the handle is pointing right. The pressure may rise, and you will get a bit of Naphtha. The Naphtha should continue coming out if the heat is high enough, if the tar regulator is pointing right, and if there is little pressure.

 

8. You now have a Barrel of Naphtha.

just steadily put coal in dont rush it or put it in too slow

Turn right valve, turn left valve, turn right valve, turn left valve. Quickly put in many chunks of coal to get the arrow to green. It won't take long for it to be distilled when it's on green. Add coal when needed. I had to try it a couple times too when I did it last time.

Thanks for the info. I'll try that. Can't seem to keep the heat up and the pressure right at the same time. Guide says 10-13 coal, yeah right sure :wall:

 

 

 

So aggravated right now I'll probably take a break from it and try again later.

One additional comment. Rope should bloody well stack!

You only need to bring coal tar once. If you mess up, just click operate. Always put in two coal at a time, and go to the mourning's end 1 guide and use the procedure listed there. It works perfectly if you do exactly what the ME1 guide says.

Okay have tried 4 times now. Have 2 barrels of tar left. I have followed the methods and only once have seen any green all I get when turning either wheel is a pop and everything goes dead.

 

 

 

Does that mean I have to totally start over by adding tar? That's what I assumed but nothing seems to work.

 

 

 

Yes, I've looked the steps in Mournings End and tried those as well.
