RazorAce
Ok, heres my first pixel sig, its a WIP so yea. Here is what i plan on getting to. A ranger in white dragon hide holding a dragon bow shooting aiming an arrow up into the sky. It will be night time on a grassy hill in the wild. There will be piles of gold, bones, and items around him. Any ideas? Here it is so far. V2. Changed color of background, added head. V3. Added torso, legs, cape, boots/gloves, and arrow. Kk, i changed the bow, and his hair and some other stuff. Still needs some help though. :-w V4. V5. I changed the bow color, hair, and some other stuff based on yours. V6. Ok, i did myself a background. Here ya go. http://s9.invisionfree.com/pec <--Best clan ever.
Smapla
You shouldn't start shading until you've sketched the whole basic idea in. You might run into problems later and have to change things.
RazorAce
Yea, i see what your saying. What about the shading on the bow, how is it? Its my first pixel item. lol http://s9.invisionfree.com/pec <--Best clan ever.
rik
well there are a lot points u can work on. But thats normal for a first pixel, since its a hard type of graphics to learn. [hide=click here for the c/c] I start with a few that really bother me: * You have chosen for a eye burning green as a background when you're working, but u can better chose a softer color, like gray/blue or something that doesn't comes out much. * You just started with drawing colored lines and shading, and not with the basic linework. Also i would recommend starting with a bigger person, because you have to draw and shade a bigger part of the person and the other parts, and you can put more detail in them. Especially with 1 of your first pixels its hard to put a lot of detail in a small piece. A good size is for exemple 300px width and 125-150 px height. * When i look at your color scheme you only picked out light colors and not really dark ones. That way you will have a much more realistic look when u shade good. *note my next point* * The shading. Your shading is pile shading, what actually means that you just take a light color and then go stripe for stripe darker. It can be a good shading technique on some things when done right, but it isn't really helpful in the begin. I recommend the beginner pixel tutorial from Terley in the FAQ or any other shading tutorial for pixels on this forums. Also you can go to this site for shading tutorials and anatomy tutorials. [/hide] This are just a few things. If you would like some more advice/help or don't understand something, just ask it :

Unoalexi
The shading on the bow is unrealistic.. you need to dither it a bit and don't simply pillow shade things.. Also, you need to change both the tint and the value of colors while shading. Here be dragons ^ Dragon of the Day

rik
Ok, i made a few applies to your v4 to let you see what i realy meant by a gray/blue color and the other things. Also on top there are 5 color blocks that are an example color for the darkbow. i know the colors aren't right but its just meant to let you see what dark/light i mean. so here is it: just save it and compare it to your version and you will notice some other chances with color. I hope this helps a bit more, and if u still don't understand things just ask it :
