MrBowser Posted November 3, 2007 Share Posted November 3, 2007 OK, I've been thinking about getting guthans for a while now... As I have never had barrows armour before, I have some questions. 1. The special effect, does it use the special bar? I hear that it restores health in a 1 to 1 ratio with damage inflicted. THAT is it's special attack, right? And, How often does it take effect? Will I ever need food with it, or will it always heal me? How often does it take to degrade, and how much does it cost to repair at a POH ? at lv 70 smithing? And, finnaly, IS IT WORTH GETTING? I wil have to sell off much of what I have to get it, but i won't need to get a whip then, right? I have guthans, but switch between that and a whip, rune def. and black mask while on a slayer task. Guthans spear is not a very good combat weapon. It does restore health, but it is a random trigger, and does NOT use the special bar. You will still need some food if you get really, really unlucky and have a monster hit a lot in a short time on you. It costs around 200k to repair at lvl 70 smithing, but it only fully degrades every 15 hours of combat. In that aspect, it is well worth it. elmo_killer6 Posted November 3, 2007 Share Posted November 3, 2007 Barrows special do not use the special bar. They jsut randomly occur every few hits. You are right about the 1:1 ratio. MOst of the times it is enough to heal you without needing food. It will degrade every 15 hours of time in combat. I'm not sure about the repair costs though but I'm sure you can easily find the prices in the knowledge base. It does help with training, however you can only train all three stats at once.
