Republicans keep Cheney impeachment bill alive

House Republicans on Tuesday prevented Democratic leaders from blocking a resolution to impeach Vice President [bleep] Cheney.

 

 

 

The vote to table the privileged resolution, offered by Ohio Democrat Dennis Kucinch, began as a largely party-line vote to kill the measure, but Republicans developed a strategy to force Democrats to debate the resolution by supporting Kucinich. GOP leaders felt as though it was in their interest to debate the measure because it would make Democrats look bad.

 

 

 

After more than an hour of waiting for the vote to close, the motion to table the resolution failed by a vote of 162-251 after Democratic leaders failed to convince a group of liberal caucus members to side with them.

 

 

 

Republican lawmakers and aides credited Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.) for coming up with the idea.

 

From what I see the republicans called their bluff in poker terms.

I don't even understand how that could humanly happen.

You might wanna research stuff before you criticize it. I'm not saying I like Cheney, but if you're gonna say stuff that's wrong, I'm going to correct you.

 

 

 

Cheney was using birdshot. Him and his friend, Harry Whittington, (Ha ha ha, Harry and [bleep] were hunting together) were hunting quails. When the hunting group (emphasis on group; it wasn't just Cheney and Whittington) decided to move spots, Whittington went to a spot about 30-40 meters behind the rest of the shooters without telling them. A quail flew up behind Cheney in the direction of Whittington. Cheney, thinking that Whittington was with him, shot at the bird, also hitting Whittington.

It did not get block, Kucinich motion to send VP impeachment to House Judicuary Committee Passes! But it looks like it still can be block.

Anyway, i would be glad to see him out, but we're just gonna have to wait for another year or so.

Because Kucinich brought up a priveledged resolution that was not defeated, he can raise the issue again "anytime he wants." This could be used to continue to put pressure on the administration. A priviledged resolution can be brought by any member of Congress for whatever reason. It basically calls for a vote here and now, and can be raised at any time until it is defeated.

 

 

 

A member submitting a privileged resolution, memorial or motion proposing impeachment is entitled to recognition for one hour in which to debate it. A member recognized to present a privileged resolution may not be taken from the floor by a motion to refer.

 

 

 

So Kucinich can bring it up time and time again to be debated for one hour every night if he chooses.

Republicans are trying to keep this act alive to make fun of the Democrats, while Nancy Pelosi is saying impeachment is out of the question and won't happen.

 

 

 

This is sad, how much the Republicans and Democrats hate each other instead of trying to make a better country.
