PatrickPyro
I've seen many people ask whether or not they should buy a newly released item. The answer is simple; don't buy an item until the time to acquire it equals the time to get the money to buy it from another player. Let's say that you get 600,000 GP per hour and you want to buy Dragon boots. Dragon boots are currently 400,000 GP and it's viable to say that it can take up to an hour to acquire one, so purchasing a pair of Dragon boots would be a good buy for the moment. You might be wondering how people figure out the amount of time it takes to acquire an item. Simply search the forums because many people love to post their drop pictures and tell people how long it took them to get their drop. The times don't differ much in most cases. PatrickPyro
Is there a forum to post tips? People ask about this a lot so it should be more than just a tip. MyMMOR - Gamers choice for MMORPG news, forums and blogs.

Ceblue
It is a useful observation - I wouldn't flame him for it. It doesn't totally fit the specifications for guides in the submission guidelines, but as he said, is more of a little tip. PatrickPyro - maybe make this a little clearer in you topic title?
