The Good Food Guide

I dont like to mess about, only the best food will do for me!. Here's how i make two of the best foods available.

Curry - Heals 19

1) Requirments

60 Cooking.

65 Thieving or 42 Farming.

45 Construction.

Lets start with what makes a curry a curry, spice. There are two ways to obtain this.

a) Use your level 42 farming skill to plant curry trees and pick the leaves. This is a very slow method, only 6 leaves can be picked at a time and 3 are needed to make a curry. Having said that they soon mount up if you have several curry tree's and visit them a few times a day.

B) Pots of spice can be stolen from the stall in Ardougne market place with level 65 thieving. This is a very fast way to make curry's. Remember to pick a high populated world because the spice stall 'spawns' faster.

The Meat

Any old meat will do, I'll be honest and say i've not done much research into the closest 'meat to bank' area but i find the hurd of cows just south of falador just fine. There are plently of cows here so there's no waiting around and the Falador east bank isnt too far away. Cook your meat on the stove just west of the bank after each trip before banking.

Spuds

There are several places to collect potatoes around the world, for no real reason i use the patch north east of Draynor Village. If you buy sacks from any farming store for just a few gp you'll save yourself alot of time. I've found the best method is to take 18 sacks. Pick 10 spuds, fill a sack and repeat. You can collect 190 spuds in one trip this way.

Bowls

This is where your construction level comes into play, at level 45 you can build shelves in your kitchen that give unlimited bowls. Teleport to your house, collect an inventory full of bowls then teleport to Falador. Use the water pump just north of the falador west bank to fill your bowls with water before banking.

Now your ready to combine your ingredients, if i can offer any advice at this point it would be to collect a few more spuds and meats than you need, its very easy to eat one instead of using it.

a) Use a spud with the bowl of water to make an 'Incomplete Stew'

B) Use meat with the incomplete stew to make a 'uncooked stew'

c) Use spice or curry leaf (3) with the uncooked stew to make a 'uncooked curry'

Now simply head to your fav cooking place, the rouges den being the closest to the bank and cook your curries! A Whopping 280 cooking xp can be gained from each complete curry.

And now the king of all foods..

Tuna Potato - Heals 22

1) Requirments

68 Cooking.

35 Fishing.

20 Farming.

45 Construction.

The Tuna

Pretty straight foward this one... umm catch tuna. I'm sure i dont need to go into how and where to fish. Grab your harpoon and go for it. The fish must be raw to make tuna potatoes, dont cook it!

Spuds

Sweetcorn

Use your level 20 farming to grow sweetcorn, no doubt you'll already have lots in the bank as one patch can give 15 or so sweetcorn easily. Sweetcorn must be cooked before it can be used to make a tuna potato.

Butter

The best place for this is the lost city. Start by taking 14 buckets to the dairy cow just south of the entrance and milk the cow till all buckets are full. Next head to the churn, halfway between the bank and the cow on the north wall. Churn your milk into butter here, the reason you only take 14 buckets at a time is because when your done you'll have 14 pats of butter and 14 empty buckets in your inventory.

Now your ready to combine your ingredients.

a) Take a knife, 13 bowls and 13 tuna from your bank. Use the knife with the tuna to add it to the bowl.

B) Take 13 sweetcorn from your bank and add them directly to the bowl.

c) Take 13 potatoes from your bank and add the bowls full of topping to them.

Thats it, your done and 309.5 cooking xp better off per tuna potato. Good Luck!

its good and all but it's too limited, you should make the entries shorters, for example you dont need to put how to get potatoes twice, but it would be useful to let us know other foods than just 2. [pineapple pizza, for example heals 20, why not include something about other high healing foods?]

Sorry for the criticism but what you have seems like the start, you need more to be actually useful

No need to apologize, all comments welcome.

The reason i only included curry's and tuna potatoes is because those are the only two i make, mainly because i personally think there the only two worth the hassle. There both 'one bite' foods. You make a good point about pizza but it takes 3 bites to get that hp heal and to be honest i dont think alot of people bother with them.

I felt it necessary to repeat parts simply because someone might want to make tuna potatoes and not bother reading the previous stuff. I didnt want people to come back screaming at me because they didn't realise you need bowl to make a tuna spud.

I had no intention of making a huge "how to cook", "level up your cooking" or "fastest cooking xp" guide. Sorry for any misconceptions. :D

then you should simply change the name to "the good food tips" instead of guide, otherwise i understand what you mean there

Uhhhhhh... Wouldn't it be easier and faster to simply buy your bowls from a general store for 5 ea now that they have unlimited stock?????? Buying from the general store in Falador or Varrock and then running to the bank would be faster than using your house. Plus, you won't even need a house or level 45 construction!

Can't you also get milk from Oak Larders?

I world hop to get pats of cream, from the RFD chest. I also buy the 10 butters, too. I worked very hard to get varrock armour 3, so that I can use the Churn in there - and I bring a friend, who does not have Varrock armour 3, but trades me the stuff, then I bank it and give him more cream. I churn some 1200-1400 per hour, this way. You could also make it so that you have like 15 friends, and all you do is trade them cream for butter. And, ya, buy bowls from the cathurby general store, because it is right next to the bank. I also use the lunar spell "humidify" to fill the bowls, it is good mage XP. If you have a mud staff, use that, so all you need are astrals. You also do not need to use raw tuna to make potatoes, you can use cooked. Also, In the manage your kingdom minigame, you can make your workers collect tuna + swordies.

Those are all the tips I can think of right now, please include them!

Nice guide, you just need some people to tell you about some stuff so it's better!

Recipie for disatster - sorry, mate, Not everyone has done it, and not everyone who has knows about that acronim. (I think that's the word).

I should have typed it out. Anyway, humidify whould be used with a water staff, and fire and astral runes in your inventory. It should always be used, because it costs about 6gp per bowl.
