I think you have to wait a while after having claimed sticks from them before you can claim more. That's maybe why.

I honestly think the fastest way is to kill the whatever monsters it is that linger around the fairy ring nearest to the nature rune altar. I think they are level 28 hobgoblins, but I'm not sure. They drop like 10-30 trading sticks each...and yes, you can use those and not bother with any of that other getting favor stuff and trade them. Much easier.

I'm certain that simply not enough time has passed since you last spoke to and claimed sticks from an NPC. To avoid this, you should wear the villager outfits as wearing these allows you to collect more from each villager allowing you to speak to fewer of them at each collection.

 

 

 

But honestly.... there's much better ways of getting these sticks.

what the heck? i got myself trading sticks, now when i went to cut trees it said i need to help villagers to cut these trees and i should leave to the main village.... sssss.s...... this karamja diary is getting very annoying!!!!!!!!

I know it sounds strange, but I collected over 600 sticks this way in about 1/2 hour this weekend and traded them in for villager robes and sandals. I was crafting nats and noticed them hanging around the fairy ring. I killed one of them just to see what it would drop. When I saw it dropped trading sticks, I killed a few more to get 100 so I could get sandals -- just to see if it would work -- and it did.

 

 

 

I then proceeded to kill enough to get both pieces of the villagers robes (pink, of course). Anything to get more new clothes! Of course now that I have them, I'm not so sure I like they way they look -- it's a shame you can't try clothes on first.

Hmm, have you completed the Jungle Potion quest? Dunno if you have to do the Tai Bwo Wanni quest too.

Yeah that's the quickest way. Got a couple thousand sticks in a short while, and still have a lot of gems in my bank.

 

 

 

Just make sure you hop worlds when you sell the gems.

If the villagers have sticks in their hands, you shuold be able to ask for trading sticks.

 

 

 

Another easy way to get sticks is by just killing jogres.

Ye i've done tai bwo wannai + jungle potion.. but idk why i can't cut the trees :(
