November 25, 200718 yr Im a smithing/merchant which basically means I buy thousands of coals and irons and smelt steel bars and sell. So what do I do with the impending approach of the Grand Exchange and still a few thousand ores left to smelt. Also what will happen to me in the future? Will buying ores and smelting into steel still be profitable? Help me out guys.

November 25, 200718 yr With the ores you have if you can smelt the ore into bars and smith the bars into whatever you want. I don't claim to have any wisdom that other's don't but I think prices will drop due to people selling lower than the current market price to sell it faster. November 25, 200718 yr One thing people don't think about. The "number value" for items may change, but the supply/demand will stay the same. Lets say steel bars become 1k each and you make a huge profit selling them, it'll be balanced by other forms of inflation, and your "dollar will go so far" kind of approach will still exist. A man who doesn't read, is no smarter than a man who can't read.
November 25, 200718 yr Ores and bars have pretty stable prices so i seriously doubt that they'll change. Coal, for example was 150ea when I started playing and that was around 6 years ago. There's only been a 50 gp change in all that time.
