November 25, 200718 yr About 4 months ago, I opened Runescape and tried to log in, but it told me that I was banned. This was obviously a shock to me, so I went to the message center to see what this was about. I had well over 10 blackmarks and it said that my account was permanently banned and muted, for real world trading and for account sharing or trading. The evidence provided for the latter was confusing. In the evidence, it was clear that the OTHER person I was talking was admitting to account sharing and trading. There was no mention of me account sharing or whatever, however, I did say a bit of lewd language (we had figured out the new account of someone whom had scammed my friend earlier (his membership was still on his old one, so he posted on the forums with it, saying to message his new account), so I was a bit angry). Jagex doesn't/didn't provide any evidence for RWT... I typed up two really well-written appeals for the bans and submitted them both. Within literally two minutes, I was unbanned and had 0/10 blackmarks once again - nothing was affected. Anyone know why Jagex would do this? Were they testing to see if I was human or something? I was confused and still am, lol. [/bads]
November 25, 200718 yr I think perhaps ban happy jagex just scim read your report (remember they have a lot to read), and missed the fact it wasn't you saying these things - so upon reviewing it noticed that fact. I imagine it's just a bit of sloppy skimreading, unfortunate though. Or, if it was a bot, you chance hit on the right keywords in both the report and your appeal :P
November 25, 200718 yr I think maybe they made a mistake and caught right after you sent the appeal? It could happen and maybe it was just coincidence that you sent the appeal right before they did that. That's my best guess. F2p for life!
November 25, 200718 yr This happened to me as well. I was also very surprised at the quick turnaround on my appeal. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
November 25, 200718 yr I believe they ban without thought now. My friend was muted for supposed profanity, he appealed and had it removed within minutes, with no black marks. This happened just last night. :-s PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
November 25, 200718 yr Might sound like a dumb question but how do I see my black marks?? I searched all over the main page yesterday but apparently I didn't look good enough. Apparently, my signature was to big.
November 26, 200718 yr Author Click on the Appeal a ban link on the left of the main page and then sign it. You probably have 0 blackmarks if you have never been banned/especially if you have no messages [/bads]
