chavster
I've just been assigned the Slayer Task of killing 125 spiritual warriors in the GWD. I've stayed away from the dungeon as I've always thought of my self as too low levelled to survive in this place for long and as a result have no experience on this. I don't want to charge in like the proverbial noob, so any help, tips or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. For example, am I better off going in with Black D hide and using slayer dart, or just stick to best melee gear? What items will I definitely need and what strategy should I follow? Main stats are: ATT : 80 STR : 80 DEF : 80 HP : 81 PRAY : 70 MAGE: 87 Many thanks
agira
Yes is interesting question, i got same task and newer been in GWD, then i just switched task, but really is interesting survival in GWD :) Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.Visit my exp track
gun_hippy
All monsters are by default aggressive, if you dsdon't prepare right you will die very fast. However, prepared correctly, it's safe as can be =] i have been there high alching before for hours (no randoms ftw). You will want, something of sara and zammy. Weilded. I go with zam book and sara symbol, or blessed d hides, just make sure you have one of each. If you're still really scared, get an Armadyl Pendant (consult the items database to find out how to retreive), and something of bandos. With lal 4 you won't be auto attacked by anything but bosses (and i'm assuming you won't be entering their chambers). Anyway, once you wear whatever you want to feel safe, head to the zammy room. All you'll need to weild in there is a zammy item, as no other monsters go there - so you can swap back in any armour pieces you like. The zam room is the bridge north of the entrance, 70 hp required. Oh, bring a dose of super restore and a fast tele just in case. Stats are drained a little on entrance. You should be alright, but with food you might have to do more than one trip (unless you pray tank). If you use guthans, remember you will always want your zammy item equipped, so if you're guthaning don't use the zammy book, use the unholy symbol :P I haven't actually killed warriors, only a crapload of mages, but from what i've seen other people do they hit moderately often, and have lots of alchable drops - so bring alch runes. They don't drop bones as far as i know so b2p is out for practical purposes. Personally, i would melee them, with super sets, in torags armour (or the best you have), and switch to guthans to heal, whilst wearing unholy symbol. If you wear d hides they will rip through you like butter. You might want to consider a proselyte/pray pot arrangement. I personally switch these tasks, but some of my friends like them. In short, bring something weildable of sara and zammy to keep you relatively safe in the main room. Bring a dose of super restore for just after you enter. Bring your best melee gear, never forgetting to wield an item of zammy (VERY important).
agira
I supposed about god items too, then good to have they in this place, but really i think is good to have good guide about this thing, because small mistake price can be death.. Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.Visit my exp track
chavster
Thanks for the comprehensive reply  . I'll get the items and give it a whirl. I'll go for the torags and super sets approach to begin with. If it's too tough I'll just tele out and go back better prepared. Thanks again. cat666
The dungeon isn't that dangerous as long as you prepare. Main things to remember: *Bring a rope the first time you go. *Bring a super restore. Nothing worse than going to kill Spiritual Mages to find your slayer level has dropped. *Wear items to make the monsters not attack you. Mostly this will be Sara and Zammy. I find a Holy Symbol and a Zammy Cape works well as I can still Guthan. *Unless you are killing Avianses stay well away from the left hand side of the Dungeon. Trust the Gene Genie! brunokiller
Spiritual rangers and warriors should be burthorped instantly My blog
cat666
Spiritual rangers and warriors should be burthorped instantly Rangers yes, warriors are worth it as they drop a fair bit of rune gear. Wear holy symbol and zammy cape and go the south eastly part. Lots of Sara Warriors here to kill. Any serious slayer will have Guthans to heal making this assignment as easy as Necrealys. It is also possible to Dharok them with melee prayer, but this is more risky in case you, 1. click on a ranger/mage, or 2. venture too near the Avianses. Trust the Gene Genie! ikraz66
Spiritual rangers and warriors should be burthorped instantly Warriors are excellent xp and tons of alchable drops (too many for one inventory, BRING ALCH RUNES!!!). Anyone who suggests burthorping them has obviously never tried them the right way. They rarely hit as long as you wear rune+ armor, but unless you have guthans, you will probably bank at least once for food. I prefer to wear a zammy cape btw, because it saves the ammy spot for a fury/glory and the shield spot for a rune defender. Don't forget to bring a black mask. Rangers are horrible, no good ranger spots at all and they hit a lot. I heard theres some good spots in the bandos area, so check it out if you wear a piece of bandos armor. lcchs
like what the 2 previous person said u shouldnt burthrope warriros but rangers. The warriors are often attacking other monsters but not the rangers. So you can get xp without being attacked urself
Nopheo
I have gone in with armydal pendant, holy book, and zammy cape which made no one atk me. As long as you have that gear you don't have to worry about the aggression of LOTS of creatures in a multi-combat area. I would imagine you would want to use melee (or range). Mages have good def against their own fighting style.
