  1. "ouch, that really bloody hurt" or "Look out he's got a urrrgghhh....Oh Bugger" or "Must run faster next time"
  2. Why do you have to do it in one day? Just chill and take longer. No reason to ruin what could be a nice day by spending 16 hours repeatedly hitting String all.
  3. The november updates have been fantastic. I love the idea of the Grand Exchange. It's a central place to buy whatever you need for a pre-determined price range. It's great for skilling and means that you don't have to struggle to get on to one of the main trading worlds which always tend to be full. You don't have to waste an hour trawling through hundreds of "selling X" looking desperately for the person selling what you're after buying. It also removes the rip off element risk. Want to buy a seers ring but not sure of the price, and don't have time to look it up as you might miss the deal of a lifetime? Go to the exchange, put in a reasonable offer based on the guideline price and it's yours if one is available. All I can say is wow, well done Jagex. Brilliant development almost seemlessly implemented.
  4. I think there's a lot of potential at the moment to make a respectable amount of money out of the GE exchange system. The prices tend to favour the seller as they seem higher than the market average. If you've got the raw materials you're on to a winner. I'm sure that the prices will even themselves out over time though as Jagex correct the more obvious discrepancies.
  5. Have you gone back prepared? i.e. steel bars / steel platebody / hard body / hard leather in your inventory. If so, mine and make steel platebodies and high alch or buy cow hides and get your crafting up. If I've let my membership lapse I just tend to work on FM - using logs accumulated from MTK - in F2P outside Falador east bank until I get bored and re-start my P2P subscription. Sometimes it's theraputic just to be able to concentrate on a few basic skills without having to worry about herblore, slayer etc. Woodcutting isn't as easy as P2P as there were loads of autoers around most yews and cutting willows at Draynor was frustrating just because the place is usually so crowded.
  6. Thanks for the comprehensive reply  . I'll get the items and give it a whirl. I'll go for the torags and super sets approach to begin with. If it's too tough I'll just tele out and go back better prepared. Thanks again.
  7. I've just been assigned the Slayer Task of killing 125 spiritual warriors in the GWD. I've stayed away from the dungeon as I've always thought of my self as too low levelled to survive in this place for long and as a result have no experience on this. I don't want to charge in like the proverbial noob, so any help, tips or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. For example, am I better off going in with Black D hide and using slayer dart, or just stick to best melee gear? What items will I definitely need and what strategy should I follow? Main stats are: ATT : 80 STR : 80 DEF : 80 HP : 81 PRAY : 70 MAGE: 87 Many thanks
  8. I'm also in the new continent camp. There have been rumours in the last 6 months of an eastern continent based along feudal Japanese lines and where archery is a highly prized skill. Don't know about new skills, but it will open up a whole new range of possibilities - ninja assassins, samuri, new monsters, quests, shogun type armies etc.
  9. Unless you are extremely wealthy no skill is easy to get a 99 in. This accounts for the vast majority of Runescape players. I've been working on fletching for a while now - buying the logs and bs when I have spare cash and then alching them for cash - but it is still a mammoth task. Sitting there to cut and string another 40,000 yew longs is something that I can't face or afford to do as a single task - and this is supposedly the easiest 99 to achieve! I respect anyone who has the time and patience to dedicate to getting a 99 in any skill, no matter what it is. That said, someone with 99 RC or smithing are just on a diffferent level to most players. These are real achievements that deserve the ultimate respect.
  10. I have noticed that randoms seemed to get stored up. You can be fletching for a while in a bank - or any repetitive event - and the random kicks in as soon as you try to teleport. There must be an event flag checked prior to the teleport event is processed.
  11. Use fishing potions as well and you might be able to shave off some more time.
  12. Currently have 70 range and want to increase this. Is it possible to use the dwarf cannon in the abyss? This just seems like the perfect spot for using the cannon - lots of fast re-spawning creatures in close proximity. You could also pick up the noted essence without using more than one inventory spot and combine the cannon with red chinchompas (area effect) for additional xp. Has anyone tried this?
  13. You can do mage training arena. Take lots of cosmics and camp out in the enchanters area
  14. Buy the logs - oaks go for about 30 - 35 per log. At only 60 construction xp per log you need loads. Although these can be cut relatively quickly, it all adds to the time taken. I don't have the lunar make log spell yet, and I tend to use the balloon from Castle wars to Varrock lumber yard and ring of recoil to tele back. With boots of lightness and spotted / spottier cape you can manage 22 logs per trip due to weight restriction on the balloon. The lunar spell does look promising though as it will make log production incredibly quick. Having the servant take the logs to the lumber yard takes too long imo and adds to the cost as you end up paying the servants wage more often. Just having them unote the planks allows you to build / remove the larders much more smoothly.
  15. I've been farming for a while (only got 71), and it can be a really expensive skill to work. In the early days I tended to steal from the master farmer down in Draynor to gather enough seeds to keep farming for a while. Then moved on to buying seeds from other players - this cost an arm and a leg though. Then tried monster killing for seeds - Ogres and Aberrant Spectres, but this is too slow to keep up the flow of seeds you need. I've only recently finished Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble. With the kingdom resources set to chop wood you get a steady inflow of tree seeds which provides a reliable stream of XP for farming. I haven't tried resources in farming yet - which provides seeds. Best way I've found is to use a combination of herb seeds and tree seeds. Planting the highest level herbs you can for your level in the 5 plots. Even if you only do this once a day you can average several K xp. As for the trees, I only tend to plant in easy to get to places - Taverly (falador tele), Varrock and lumbridge (free home tele). The fruit trees tend to go in Catherby, Gnome tree places and brimhaven. These get planted at the same time as the herbs to reduce the number of laws needed.
  16. I think higher level players tend to be more respectful to each other. You know the amount of work that someone has put in to get where they are. The cocky players tend to be around the 50-60(ish) levels, who have done some combat (but not enough to know the grinding effort required). As a mid 90's cmb, I don't try to draw attention to myself and as a result don't get bothered much on F2P. My skilling outfit is just the basic garb for lightness - on P2P it was spotted cape and boots of lightness. Some players act like celebrities, walking around in capes of achievement when it's not required, and then complaining when the paparrazzi (low level players) hound them for cash or emotes.
  17. Congrats on reaching this milestone. Love your runecrafting level!
  18. Do the smithing in port phantasm, it's quicker than al kharid. Good luck mining and smithing that mountain of gold. How many are you hoping to do each day?
  19. A couple of things: 1) Is there a lift off point in the game / skill sets when things become that much easier? If so, what combination or level of skills did you have. 2) Have you ever done anything immoral to progress? 3) Do you look at the top players lists to keep an eye on up and coming threats from less established people? 4) Can you relax at the top or is there even more pressure to perform to maintain your ranking?
  20. You recharge the glories. If you've got 20 glories, you've got 80 Nat crafting runs before you have to recharge - which is free.
  21. If I'm low on natures, then usually upstairs at mage guild so I can buy more runes / Battlestaves as I'm alching. Otherwise Camelot to buy more bow strings as I'm usually alching yew/mage longs.
  22. One thing I forgot about was that you need an item in the bank for everything you may want to make in F2P. I.e. If you're making Steel Plate, then you'll need one in your bank whilst your still a member.
  23. Been playing for about 14 months - about an hour a day on average. Combat Lvl 89 Total Lvl 1565 Xp 21.2 mill
  24. The best way to level crafting at the mo is to make orbs using the lunar magic supglass make spell (lvl 77 mage required). Collect the soda ash / seaweed / sand from the traders just south of Catherby. You can get sand on a regular basis from Bert (Hand in the sand quest) in Yanille (84 per day). Use the superglass make spell to create molten glass (20 xp per glass created). Using the spell, you always get more glass than the ingredients used. Blow the glass into orbs (52.5 xp per orb) which needs lvl 46 crafting. If you then want to get more xp, charge the orbs at the air obelisk using the lvl 66 charge air orb spell. Use the orb with a battlestave and get another 137.5 crafting xp and an elemental air battlestaff. The vast majority of Xp using this method comes from making the orbs themselves. Battlestaves can only be bought in Yanille mage guild and Varrock (5 each), but they give a high-alching profit of over 2K per stave. This is quite useful if you're camped out in the Yanille mage guild high-alching Yew longs, using the profit to buy staves as they respawn.
