[GE]Time Between Sales

Featured Replies

Anyone have an idea of how long they mean by this?

If you have just bought/sold an item, you will not be able to sell/buy that item for a period of time. If we allowed this, it would be far too easy for someone to manipulate prices and prevent the economy from being stable.

It seems to be a long period of time.

Test it real fast with items people are having trouble selling or buying at the moment...

Like go buy a piece of coal for 200gp or so (you should get one instantly), and then try instantly after that to buy another.. see if it is instant again

I can't say for sure, but i tried to test it just out of curiosity

i set up to buy 10k raw chickens (remember f2p get the ge too, they won't be in short supply) for max price and i get sales something like once every half hour, so i'm guessing it's about half an hour. Of course that's just a rough estimate from what i saw, it may well be off or different for each item - i'd be interested to see if anybody knows for sure what the deal is also.

It's definitely not instant I know that.

I've been buying ashes, 10k at a time. And each time I get 10k, and set up another trade to get another 10k, I find for a while I get no sales at all. But once I do start getting sales, I get the 10k pretty quickly.

@gun_hippy, well I don't think there's a wait period when you have a "trade" set-up already. I know when I was collecting the ashes I bought, I would find that I get more ashes as soon as I collected some.

Icecube, I think that is from the "wait in line" thing...

Like it would be like this:

7:05 PersonA buying 10k of Item1

7:07 PersonB buying 3k of Item1

7:12 PersonC buying 11k of Item1

7:16 Icecube buying 10k of Item1

the time is when you made your offer to purchase

Then, whenever someone sells Item1, it gets sold to the person at the top of the list.. so you will have to wait until people A,B, and C have bought all they need and then you will get your chance, and then you will get your request filled pretty quickly because all Item1s being sold would go to you

So trades are done "first-come first-serve"?

I assumed they were distributed evenly and randomly or something, because someone could buy like 100k of an item and never have the trade fully completed and take all the sales.

icecube7.jpeg

That's what I've read and I guess it would make some sense as it would explain how people will go like a period of time with no sales and then sell all of their items within a couple of minutes...

Try testing the idea of Jagex's limit between trades by buying 1 coal or nature rune something really fast at the maximum price and then again right after you buy the first

Hm interesting, it bought me both nature runes instantly, one after another.

So I'm not sure what's up with ashes then. Whenever I start getting sales for them, I end up getting the full 10k in the next hour.

Try buying something, and then relisting it for sale again right away, at a higher price?
