I'm not the most knowledgeable ranger out there, so i thought i'd ask you.

 

 

 

I've been thinking on getting 99 ranging lately.

 

I've seen people training ranging and magic in the dungeon below ape atoll. Seems like a good place to train, but i've never trained there.

 

 

 

I'm ready to throw some money into red chinchompas.

 

 

 

1: Should i get to level 80 (or even higher?) before i go training there?

 

2: About how many red chins would it take? (i'm at 1372849 xp currently)

 

3: Roughly how much xp is it per hour down there?

 

 

 

P.S - If there's already a similar thread or some guide, show me!

we'll 30k xp if u wear bone cross bow archers helm black d hide chest and torag legs at bandits thats pretty good or if u want tons of money range blue dragons its a bit slower though prob 20k an hour

I see alot of people training range at yaks with knives and darts, they tell me its faster xp than bone bolts so you could try it :D

I suggest +85 before training there +90 is a even better.

 

 

 

Took me about 30k from 90, my friend is using about 45k from 80.

 

 

 

I hit about 250k an hour there counting the time getting there.

i think it's like 200 - 250k xp/hr with red chinchompas @ ape atoll, atleast i had +24k xp left and got in like 5 - 6 mins :-k .. but its very expensive way to train, BUT VERY FAST :

Get to 85 before using red chimps, its too much of a waste of money before that. You wont hit high or accurately enough.

(sorry for this noob question) - but what to wear down there? Or do i have pray pots with me for protect-melee?

You need to pray melee down there or else you'll get destroyed by all the zombies.

I'd suggest you wear something along these lines...

 

 

 

God Mitre

 

God Cloak/Ava's Accumulator --- Holy/Unholy Symbol --- Nothing

 

Red Chinchompas --- Black Dragonhide Body --- Unholy Book

 

Black Dragonhide Chaps

 

Barrows Gloves --- Frogleather/Snakeskin Boots --- Ring of Life

 

 

 

This setup has range attack and prayer bonus both in mind, which is the only things that matter down there. For your inventory, I'd suggest...

 

 

 

4 x Range Potions (4)

 

16 x Prayer Potions (4)

 

5 x Monkfish/Sharks

 

1 Holy Wrench

 

1 Monkey greegree

 

1 One-click teleport (House tabs are preferred)
