My mining lvl is currently 66 and my smithing lvl is currently lvl 53. How would i go about getting them to the same lvl or around the same lvl but also raising my mining lvl in the process.

Mine gold and smelt the ores into gold bars with goldsmithing gauntlets.

I Would advise you to ask one of the smithing co's to work out a smithing deal.

 

Say you give 100 steel bars for around 350 coal. Then you can just mine some the iron you need to use up all of those coal into bars again.

 

 

 

Your stock would increase as well as your smithing xp and mining xp. But the important thing that you wanted is that your smithing would be rising at a faster rate than your mining.

im almost those exact same lvls in mining and smithing. I am simply going to buy 1k iron and 2k coal at 350k and then sell all those bars for around 550k(at grand exchange). This works weel for me becayse I make money while getting my smithing up. once smith is at lvl 70 ill work on mining to lvl 70.

I find that smelting ores into bars is a slow way to raise my smithing lvl. I like smithing into weapons and armour but i don't wanna have to pay 550gp for a steel bar.

^ The answer to that is pretty much...tough. If smelting was fast xp, you'd lose money at it, and if smithing was cheap, everyone would smith their own bars and wouldnt sell them

Some guides I've read suggest doing the iron/coal -> steel thing for money then buying iron bars (all using GE, of course). I thought maybe I would try that, or smithing some of the steel bars so I at least break even.

It looks like making steel bars to sell then buying iron bars is the way to go.

 

 

 

My estimates show 13k exp/hour vs. 11k exp/hour keeping some bars, and that includes high alching time. 18k more gp/hour by keeping some steel bars, though.
