Don't ask about the RuneScape name, long story! Anyway, I recently hit 80 firemaking in a race with a friend who is going for 99. Originally I was going to stop at 80, but once I hit 80 a few of my friends were urging me to go for 99. May as well give it a go eh? [hide=Me in real life (you have been warned...)] I told you I was going to do a lot today. Well ok, no I didn't. But here you go anyway! [/hide] [/hide] Ultimately my goal is 99 firemaking. However (lol) I only have 20k willows and 2k yews left to burn. So this blog will be about how i raise the money for 99 firemaking, then finally me actually getting it. If anyone was wondering, I'm F2P but have been a member for 2 months. I can usually be found in world 68, and i burn at the grand exchange. My chat is always ON! [hide=First bank] As of 19th December 2007. I sold a lot of stuff recently like the ess, nats, cakes, and a lot of the fish. Won't ever part with my gems though [/hide] [/hide] [hide=Skill level ups] I didn't put this in originally, but whilst smelting bars to make cash for firemaking i levelled up smithing. So decided to put this in. I won't organise them by skill because I won't be levelling up that many! That's all so far... [/hide] [hide=Firemaking level ups] Well I'm just getting started at the moment. Lots more to come... [/hide] [hide=Here goes... The Blog] OK, so welcome to my blog! I'm glad you clicked on it. The day I started this is the day after I got 80 firemaking. I was surprised at how fast the exp is, so chose it to be my first 99, however long it takes me. [hide=Day 1 - 19th December 2007] Today I came on quite late and my mum is trying to make me only spend an hour on the computer each day. Making this blog took most of that! However, i did mine some coal which I will use to make steel bars. I need to smelt just under 800 more, and i have the ore for 600 of them. When I have 1k steel bars I will sell them (probably on the exchange) to afford more yews :twisted: lol. Wow, today has been busy. Two very helpful donations, i mined the coal, and I'm currently smelting in Al Kahrid. Come and say Hi! That's about it for today. Thanks all! One last note: That sneaked up on me! [/hide][hide=20th December] Well, here I am again! Look what I did today! That means more yews for me! I also got a big donation of 2k willows, thanks very much to Skull3k3 for that. I started to burn some, will update later today if i come back on. W00t!!! Yes!!! I missed the screenshot because I was talking - great start to the blog! But thats 1 level less to go, thanks to everyone who donated because I actually levelled using their logs! Less than 20k willows to go... I've been quite busy these last few days, but when i got back on i burned a good few logs. Less than 19k willows to go! I don't know why I'm so exited because when I've burnt those I don't know where I'm gonna get the rest of the logs for 99 lol. Wehey it was about time too I told you I was going to do a lot today! Well ok, no I didn't. But here you go anyway! Another 1k logs down! And would you believe it... Another 1k burnt! Well i was down to about 16.1k, but Skull3k3 was in generous mode again! Thanks man! I'll get 83 with those I didn't think I actually would though! Awesome, 2 levels today! A total of 380k exp, thats not bad going! I'll get a bit more, but this will be my last update for tonight. If I'm not on tomorrow then MERRY CHRISTMAS! [/hide][hide=24th December] lol I came on for a bit today after i wrapped up my presents! Got a beefy donation from Madnesslink - see the bottom for a picture of it. Basically I'm back up to 19k willows in my bank :ohnoes: [/hide][hide=26th December] Well I couldn't come on Christmas Day, that would just be rude! That came on Boxing Day, still lots of logs and time to go but I am going to do it! [/hide][hide=28th December] Well I came on again today, determined to get 85, and I got it! I'm pretty happy with that :D I bought 2k willows cos some guy wanted to sell me them, but I'm back down to about 15k willows again. I will need about 18m to get 99 firemaking with yews lol, so I will try and raise perhaps 10m of that, and then do more willows. Oh how i wish i could bank maples. [/hide] Will update soon... Some people like the 3 tinderbox system, because some people say it stresses your hand less (I find it no different) and there are many other options! I myself use 3 tinderboxes sometime, because it's nicer to look at the logs in bank as increments of 25 or I just use the tinderbox on first slot, logs on the rest and burn away. And for good spots : Varrock east bank - Good : Usually no other firemakers and 4 fine lines - Bad : Many people come asking you some very random stuff which slows you down a lot if you answer them. Yanille - Good : 3 Fine lines and 1 with a single rock on the way (You can learn how to hop over it without losing any time) - Bad : Lots of people use it (like me :D ) Falador east - Good : 4 Fine lines and more with a few flowers on the way. - Bad : Lots of people too. Port Phasmatys - Good : 2 Straight lines, rarely people around - Bad : Without ghostspeak amulet the banking takes an extra click, no space for 2 firemakers, so the bad kind of firemakers will make you vent. I have no idea on Grand Exchange, you can try I guess. I don't recommend Draynor Village at all... Too much competition and the lines are just and just long enough... And one more thing : Unless you make crazy fast money (Double natures or faster), I'd say maples are your best bet. Yesterday I was up at 6:30am to go gliding, but we arrived there at about 9 and had to wait for the cloud base to rise. Which took all day! I only got a 20 minute flight, bah! When I got home I only had 30 mins to gobble down tea and leave for a gig. I got paid ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã35 for playing though! And today, its a year that I've been with my girlfriend, so I won't be on much! Tomorrow I'll come online and get a level, promise! Keep this bumped while I'm away? Thanks for the tips Pyrex, was helpful. I can't bank maples because my bank is full of members stuff and is full to the brim, its very annoying. And I don't think I'll be going all the way with willows either, I'm just going to burn the ones in my bank then do a mix of yews and willows probably. Thanks for al the replies, merry christmas!
