Guide to ranging Green Dragons

By: Fat_Klutz

This guide is aimed at lower levels who need something to do, need some easy money, or just want to kill some dragons. It also is about ranging green dragons southeast of the lava maze. It does not cover maging them or meleeing them.

Information about Green Dragons can be found here, they hit around a max of 33 with dragon breath as well.

Ranging green dragons isn't particularly interesting but it good money with Dragon Bones at 2k each and Green Hides at around 1.6k each. Green Dragons also have some interesting drops with lvl 3 clues and perhaps a dragon spear.

Minimum levels: 45 range

57 woodcutting

You must be a member to fight Green Dragons

The first thing to do when preparing to get ready to is to collect your supplies.

Things you should wear include:

The best range armor you can bring

MSB/C'bow (Mith or better)

Ammo for bow/C'bow (Steel arrows/emerald (e) bolts work well)

Anti-dragon fire shield (If you are using C'bow, if using MSB not needed)

Ava's Accumulator/Attractor (Requires Animal Magnetism Quest)

Ammy of Glory (4) (Very important that it is charged)

Things that should be in your inventory:

Woodcutting axe (Very important)

Enough food to heal about 75hp (Should not take more than a 7 spaces) Suggested Sara Brews+Restore pot (Opens up inventory space)

Here is what I bring

Our starting location will be Edgeville bank. Once you have everything listed head to the northeast and go to the canoe location.

picture3bv9.png

Once there proceed to make a Waka Canoe and sail it to the wilderness.

picture4to0.png

You will end up at a small lake by skeletons. From here head north west until you encounter Green Dragons.

Once here you must find safespots. There are several to be found but there are two in particular that allow easy access to two dragons and give good safety.

These are the first two safespots you will come to. They are not as good as the next to and the dragon to the north may not get stuck behind the tree if he is to far to the west.

picture5id0.png

Must make sure dragon is behind tree before ranging. If not he may attack you.

picture6ox1.png

Fairly straight forward, hide behind bones and range. The dragon to the north will NOT attack you here even though it looks like he might. Ava's accumulator does not work behind bones.

These next to locations are slightly farther west and I prefer them to the previous two. NONE of the dragons can get to where you are standing so these two spots are full-proof.

picture1dv2.png

Use this spot to attack the southern dragon. You can stand behind the bones aswell but in this spot Ava's accumulator will activate and it saves you the trouble of picking up your arrows.

picture2gf9.png

Possible my favorite spot, make sure you are a little west of the tree so arrows don't fall behind tree and are not picked up by accumulator. (Guy in black D-hide is in a perfect spot)

Now that you know the safe spots for ranging them, the rest is fairly straight forward. Simply range them and pick up their drops. The dragons do not wonder into each others areas either so equipping a D-fire shield is not necessary. (You may wish to bring one anyway while running to safespots as you will most likely be hit once or twice)

After filling up on hides/bones/w.e you want you WILL NOT run to bounty hunter to bank. Instead head southwest until you get to lvl 30 wilderness and teleport out using your ammy of glory.

Spot to tele

Now you will be back at the beginning. Bank and repeat. After a trip this is what my inventory looks like.

You do not always get this many mith axes per trip. For the most part the item drops will vary and if you start with 20 spaces in your inventory you will usually end up with about 8 hides/bones and 4 other things.

Last thing is, revenants FREQUENTLY visit this area. This is why I recommend bring food. Since you will be in some type of dhide chances are they will not hit particularly well against you but never the less I suggest you run for a couple of seconds, log out and world hop.

Thanks for reading my guide (its my first one!), please comment and critique but don't be to harsh. Thanks again!

Nice guide, but for food, I suggest 2 sarabrews and maybe a restore potion. Brews are only ~1.5k ea on the exchange (when you make them a (4)) and heal a ton of hp (15%+3 hp per dose if i am no mistaken) so if your hp is at 50 or more hp 2 brews is 80 hp of healing. It also boosts your defense way up, which helps against reverents. The downside is is that it that it lowers your stats, but thats solved with a resore potion. This uses 3 spaces, as opposed to the 7 lobbies you use, which mean 2 kills per trip.

Thanks, I added that. I just happen to have like 1k lobs in my bank so no point for me buying something else.

You mean tele house with obelisks? thats slowe than just running to lvl 30 wildy and teleing out with glory... plus if u run out by teleing to the one is lvl 17 wildy you might not end up in edgeville which means ure not close to waka canoe spot which kinda defeats the purpose of just not banking at Bounty hunter.

Good job on your first guide.

Me likey! 8/10

(Off-topic: My first rate, FTW!)

I did this and came out with 100k(after burying bones and taking hides) in profit, prayer level and 2 ranged levels.

It was a good mix up for training.

You could mention to take 2 ranging potions for faster kills and faster profits. I usually take 3 and if I'm killing them faster than I'm using them I'll just drop the pots. I take an anti-dragonbreath shield BUT I also take an Unholy Book for the added +8 in attack. I hit up to an extra 2 with my crossbow. But I only equip the book when I'm in a safespot and run out when the dragon is dead.

Revenants are a hassle though. :/

Yeah, you should change the lobsters to sara brews, but bring maybe 3 (4) dose sara brews and a pray pot or super restore just to be able to pray in case a revant comes up to attack you.

Its a decent guide, but you might want to include other methods to kill dragons. Maybe halberds, crossbows, just to give your guide more methods to kill.

Good guide otherwise
