  1. You can still do skillcape emotes though. Your bank goes back down to f2p size so banking is hard to do. If you're unsure what we mean by it being a "memeber's object" with no stats, try hopping to a f2p world to see what its like.
  2. I would say the number one mistake players with 88+ summon make is that they forget bunyips exsist, and that unicorns are the only familar in exsistance. You used bunyips before to replace food in many situations, and you still can. Healing aura scrolls add up fast, and take concentration to use, where as bunyips are just a regeneration effect. Also if food and/or prayer can take care of you and you're fighting in a multi combat zone, combat familiars beat them both. When I slay, I tend to use bunyips or combat familiars more than unicorns. Don't get me wrong, unicorns are epic and awesome. They do an amazing job at what they're good for, but for many situations are just expensive overkill. Basically: Use bunyips if you're taking small amounts of damage over time. Use Unicorns if you're taking bigger hits of damage, to extend your trips. Use a combat familiar if you're barely taking any damage, and in a multi combat area. Also for boss hunting, you typically want to bring a BoB full of supplies, then swap to unicorn part way through.
  3. In some situations, they could be more useful than a titan. Titans are big and fat and get stuck on a lot of things, where wolpers are smaller and less likley to get caught.
  4. I think there is a lot of potential to this. Could you imagine a pvp weapon that a special effect of ocasionally dealing constitution damage? You'd be able to stop your opopnent from "safing" by eating away their max hp. Also, making lesser gear which reduces damage can also be added in. The part I like about the update is that smaller boosts mean somethin now. Before 1 point in strength meant a % chance of dealing 1 more damage (I think it was ~25%/str point). Now, gaining 1 str point raises your max damage by 2.5 (or something like that). So really, its not just the new players who are benifiting from this, people just hate change.
  5. Some ideas I've had for "outside the box" prayers: -Whenever an attack would kill you, you take half damage instead, and it drains your prayer the same amount. No, this doesn't make you immortal. Say you have 10 hp remaining, and I hit you for 12, you instead take 6 and lose 6 prayer, but if I hit you for 20, your take 10 damage and die. -Whenever <prayer name> has been active for over 15 seconds, bones are automatically buried (like, you get prayer exp for killing something, instead of bone drops) It could be usefull for gaining some prayer levels for cheap, but its not giving you anything you couldn't have done manually, it just saves some trouble. Another alternative is: -Whenever <prayer name> has been active for over 15 seconds, coins drops are auto banked.
  6. For some reason, I never instantly clue into any drops at abby demons. I'm just cruise control there. Oh, coins, oh some runes, oh, a whip, oh a rune med.. wait did I get a whip? Mages too, I never clue into the fact boots drop when they do, it always takes me a few seconds. I guess I was angered by ring of life drops by rex too many times, and now i'm just numb to good drops. Also, strange things that drop like d meds and d spears are always a "wtf is that?" moment for me, I can never tell what they are until I click them.

  8. I this kid ^^ Yea, I literally, "locked eyes from across the room" (Get it?) when I saw this post... I was like lets get my gear and go questing... And then I read it... DAMN YOU! On topic: Yea, I honestly doubt it'll be this year, but knowing my luck, as I log off to record where I stand after I get 99 Mining, I'll see a post on the Main Page "Dragon Pickaxe Released!" I just ate a grape and I ... relized that this was just a theory topic. -sigh- Too bad.
  9. Actually, the old system drained items away. On average, every pker lost money, because consumables that are used are lost in the fight, so a normal system slowly makes items go away. Now, this is only the average. A skilled pker will win more fights then he loses, and can make money, and a worse pker will lose more fights then he wins, and lose money to the better pkers. The current system creates more items than are taken out, thus the 26k trick exists.
  10. WHAT! 9000! There's no way that could be right! Could it?!!!??!@!@ OT: I'm pretty sure they changed the system for EP, so that could be what you had from before the update converted into the new system.
  11. To specifically make cash, I do daily battlestaves and herb runs. I also keep money in my kingdom, with 5 on fish and 10 on maples. I've also taken up item flipping. The majority of my cash comes from just doing what I do. Right now I've taken mostly a break from rs, logging on to do my dailies if I remember, and the odd slayer task/ skill for half an hour. When I play normally, I just train skills that make me money (Slayer, RC, Hunting, to a lesser degree theiving, Woodcut makes me a bit too) or that are mostly free (Agility, drop mining) while I'm broke, then when I get some money I just dump it into skills that cost. Right now with my break, I've not spent cash, and I'm upto my highest cash pile ever that hasn't just been spent near instantly (almost 40m).

    Skillers

I'm working, though slowly, to max total. I personally wouldn't make a skiller because if I'm going to skill, its going to be to help me to get to max total, and not to get some level 3 account high level skills. I remember when a lv 3 with a skill cape, or doing something somewhat high leveled (like chopping yews, mining mith ect) to be a rare kind of neat thing. Nowadays you're as likely to have to compete with a level 3 for a spot as someone who's a higher combat level. I'm not very fond of pures, but I can see how they could have an advantage somehow. A level 3 training a skill is at a disadvantage, so it seems kind of silly.
  13. I'm pretty sure the most efficient way to runecraft is zmi to 91 then nats. At 60 you broke even when I was 60 rcing, but now that pure ess is a little cheaper, I bet you could brake even at your level, give or take 10-15k/hr, which is next to nothing compared to what 91+ rc gets you.
  14. I was playing a very terrible text based game with my friends. I was surfing the forums, looking through posts, and one of them was talking about runescape, and I tried it. 2003 I think. I started playing in classic, played for about a month, there was talk about rs2beta, took a 6 month break, then rs2 was out. Was that 2003 or 2004?
  15. I can plow through millions of goblins without food at all, wouldn't make goblins a good task. Most serious slayers care more about xp/hr then resources used, especially since you can piety all most of your tasks, resip super sets are 110, cannon and still turn a profit. They're low xp/hr and crowded. Their charms aren't too great, and they don't drop anything besides clues. And, since about 80% of duradel's assignments drop clues thats nothing special. Making more of them won't persuade me into unblocking them. And as far as giving them to f2p, I don't see it as a bad thing. It'll give something for higher level f2pers to do. "Safe" greaters are the better present for them though imo.
  16. There is three ways to last longer in combat (put food aside a minute, everyone uses it) 1. Run away. This ends the fight, stopping you from taking damage. (thought its a terrible way to win) 2. Wear better armour and have a higher def level. This makes your opponent hit more 0s on you, thus you last longer. 3. Kill your opponent. If they're dead, they can't hurt you. Defense does matter. However, lots of people opt for option 3. It makes a lot of sense, you're going into a fight to beat your opponent, not to not let your opponent beat you. If you have a high defense and a low attack/str, you'll sit there like a lump and you're opponent will eventually beat through your armour. Though, in the case of people that are pure offense, a slight breeze could kill them. There's a balance to be had in there. And, someone with maxed melee with beat someone with 99/99/90 more often then losing, so defense as a level does matter. (Assuming both people are equally good at pking)
  17. Thats a lot of loot for 100 tasks, besides the lack of whips. You've got 3x as many d bows in that 100 tasks as I have ever (which has been well over 100 tasks since 90). Although, I'm going to have to 7/10 unless you have a good answer to that question =p
  18. 6/10, I've seen you quite a bit actually, mostly by your siggy.
  19. Well, seeing as runes don't exist.... Here's my best attempt at me: ATTACK: 65, I'd put myself above average, but below someone who does martial arts/fight a lot. My close up hand eye coordination is pretty good. (Videogames ftw) HITPOINTS: 50, average STRENGTH: 50, I'm not very strong, but I can DEFENCE: 50, Again, physically average pretty much RANGE: 55, I've actually done archery before. I'm not too great at it. PRAYER: 30, I don't bury bones, or go to church. However I've done a ton of research on religion, so even though I'm not religious, I have to give my self something for that. SUMMONING: 60, I'm decent with animals, but I not super amazing SKILLS: RUNECRAFTING: 99, I r gud rock paintur. CONSTRUCTION: 70, I've done quite some construction work in my life, and I've lived in two houses that where under construction/done a lot of research. I'd put myself well above average, but not as good as say a profesional contractor. AGILITY: 45, I'm pretty out of shape HERBLORE: 55, Just above average. THEIVING: 65. I don't steal things, but this one time I swapped the teachers text book for a random student's and didn't get caught. It was pretty funny actually. CRAFTING: 65 FLETCHING: 65, I've made arrows before. And no, you can't really put 15 heads on in a second. I'm also fully capable of stringing bow. (RS actually does it wrong, in RS you string the bow backwards.) SLAYER: 10, OMFG THERES A BEE IN HERE RUUUUUUUN!!!!!!! HUNTER: 55, I've had to catch my cats countless times when they've gotten out. MINING: 60, if landscaping counts. I also have quite a bit of knowledge about rocks, SMITHING: 70 I've made chainmail before and done some basic solder casting. I plan on building a small charcoal furnace that should be able to melt pop cans and cast small things in sand molds. (though you don't use whole cans in small scale, there's too much paint and not enough resources. So i'll be melting tabs and aluminum foil probably). I can't find my chainmail I have (its just a "sheet", but its something) , but if I do, I'll post a pic. I've also got a sword I'm trying to restore. FISHING: 60, I can fish (better than my friends but they won't agree), but I'm nothing special at it. COOKING: 60, though I've never cooked a lobby (I plan on trying it soon though) FIREMAKING: 85. I've set a lot of things on fire -cough- and made fireworks before -cough-and I paid way to much attention to chemistry. -cough-. WOODCUTTING: 60, I've cut down trees before, and I'm almost a high enough level to use a dragon chainsaw. FARMING: 65, My parents are huge into gardening. I got sucked into it a little because of this.
  20. The answer is so obvious. The update was put in for one reason. You may have noticed energy potions restore 20% now, and whats the secondary ingredient to energy potions? Its chocolate. Now people will actually use energy potions, due to this update, and thus the price of chocolate will go up, people will be hoarding supplies of chocolate and there will be a massive demand for chocolate. So, they will need to fix this by adding chocolate making to the cooking skill. Chocolate making will involve cocoa, and as you know, Karamja isn't the correct climate to grow cocoa. Meaning this entire scheme was created to make a bunch of new tropical islands, that you can grow cocoa on. You know what that means: ZOMG THEY'RE RELEAsiNg SaILing!!!!!!!!111!!!one!!!!!eleven!!!!!@@222@@two@@!!!111
  21. If I get something I think I'll use later, I'll hoard it in my bank. But most stuff is bought off the GE. In the amount of time it would take me to gather/spin 1k bowstrings for fletch, I could have made enough money to buy them, the 10k crafting xp and still have some left over. If I can apply that same logic to something, then its more efficient for me to buy it then gather it. However sometimes I could be in the mood to gather something, so I throw efficiency to the wind and just gather.
  22. I think its not the responsibility of jagex to put limits on. Though I do feel they have some kind of responsibility to incorporate the ability to take breaks into playing the game. Its their responsibility to give us the ability to have breaks, but our responsibility to take them. An example of what I'm saying is fight caves. It could be unhealthy for someone to have to go through 2 hrs+ of gaming without the ability to have a break, so they put in the ability to save your progress. Most of rs is good for this, skills only take 2-3 minutes max to complete a cycle, you can kill any boss in under 5 minutes, quests give you time to take a break ect. The only place I can think of that's poorly designed for this is daggonoth kings, where you can't log out without messing things up. Though I personally wouldn't mind an optional timer in game. Something I can turn on while skilling/slaying to knock me out of cruise control every hour. Its not very hard to slay for "5 minutes" and then 3 hours have gone by.
  23. You're right in the fact that nobody in their right mind would buy, but junk isn't so bad, as long as you have a good item to lend (GS/Claws, ect.) Yeah, but I was directing it to the fact that the guy suggested selling. Good to keep as junk however. Or good to sell to grim for 100k =p.
