Mercifull
Ok so one day like normal i go to gonnect to irc. I can connect to the first few just fine but when i try connecting to irc.chat-addict.net this happens. [2] * Connecting to irc.chat-addict.net (6667) - [2] * Unable to connect to server (Connection timed out) - And it does this trying again and again until its tries 100 times and then stops. Corey at chat-addict has checked all his settings and nothing seems to be wrong at his end, other people on my isp (BT Broadband) connect fine. Today i tried connecting to another irc server that ive never tried before and i got k-lines because apparently i had a "Spoofed IP" How do i go about fixing this, this is possibly the reason why i cannot get onto chat-addict. I have done the following so dont post saying to do any of this stuff. Soft and Hard reboot of the router Reset the router Disconnected the router Updated the firmware Checked router settings Closed firewall and tried to connect I am not using a proxy It was working fine one day and not the next, I have not changed any settings. I do not have a virus and i do not have any spyware. Don't patronise me by asking for a HJT log. Thanks in advance for any help. i_D_r
eh routers suck, mysterious problems arise with mine that are similar.
DaN
do you have another computer you can put on that router? if so test it, if it can connect to irc then you know its the router and not your computer. It is possible that your host is blocking ports (hosts do lame things like that) I would suggest contacting them as it could be a problem with them thats going unnoticed. Apart from that it seem you,ve dont everything possible :? ~Dan64AuSince 27 Aug 2002

Bmw
Have you tried connecting directly to your computer? Does it work then? First you have to be sure its your router. If it works fine when directly connected, then yeah, its a router problem. I'm thinking you have a wrong port opened/closed. Check your router settings once again? Check the filter, forwarding, etc. If it worked one day and not the next, perhaps your router or ethernet adapter auto updated its firmware? You said you have reinstalled the firmware, but perhaps try rolling back the drivers? Hopefully I've been somewhat helpful. Gl, Bmw
