What exactly does strenght do?

If so would it be logical for me to stop training str, and only train att and deff? I train using slayer if it matters.

strength only increases your max damage

 

attack increases the chance to hit

 

defence increases the change to "absorb" the hit

No it doesn't, it impoves your chances of them hitting a zero. Once it's determined that they're going to hit, its random, as far as I can tell, perhaps excluding bonuses from weaponry.

Strength determines how much damage you are able to deal in one turn. That means the higher your strength level, the harder you will hit in a single swig of a weapon! Of course, the better the weapon, the more higher you will hit. :D

After 80, I'm going to train just defense, I kinda see the same as you, I can hit ~25's with no prayer, what's the point?
