Aurthor1234
My computer turns off at random but it doesn't turn off it just restarts windows. So my theory is that it is something to do with windows. It usually does this when I log in to the computer. kelerps
Normally the first thing you should do with this type of problem is to restart the computer in safe mode. If the computer continues to reset than it is possibly a hardware issue. If the computer does not restart than what you are experiencing is most likely a software problem. blade995
Try this first: windows key +pause break advanced tab settings in startup and recovery section uncheck automatically restart

If it started at the first time as yours check for virus's. Considering he is your friend you both may have downloaded something iffy. I know there was a virus a while back that would reset windows automatically after like a minute of when you logged on. I would reset in safe mode and scan, if you get logged off in safe mode than its probably a hardware issue.

But didn't you get some error message that your computer is going to shut down itself in 1 minute? On-Topic: Try scanning in safe mode.
Nadril
But didn't you get some error message that your computer is going to shut down itself in 1 minute? Yeah I think it did. Still probably safest to scan in safe mode first before he starts poking around with hardware. :P
