Interesting topic, but...

Cons with Void knight melee:

1. Takes long time to get. (can be discussed)

2. Lower defence bonuses.

3. No black mask.

These are pretty big negatives. I do most of my melee training via Slayer, so the black mask is important. The defence of the void armor is rubbish, so unless you are only killing low-level monsters, it's going to hurt.

All that for a very marginal benefit at best. So no, I don't think it's underrated.

Not everyone Is using slayer but yes that's a big down.

It adds up quite a bit on higher level players.

And it's cheap, perfect for medium leveled players.

idk but is't it +10%damage? because it wil then probaly be more bonus than the prayer would give (idk might be worth cheking) but do remember that dragon boots also give a bonus to (idk how to spel this word:) acuary and some other stuff could to

6 years. 1 dragon CS drop and some barrows, bad luck?

Dark gloves also give +12 to all attack bonuses, better than void knight's +10%.

Void knight is pretty much useless, even if using it with ranged you are missing out on the ranged bonuses from hide.

And by lower players everyone have barrows gloves, much cash to buy the good gear?

Yes for higher levels this is a drawback but for low-medium players it's quite good.

I've had barrows gloves since like... level 80 or so? You include in your example of gear a fire cape, anyone with a fire cape should probably have barrows gloves by now.

If you have the time to get full void knight melee you easily have enough time to complete recipe for disaster.

I also think you're totally forgetting about defence bonuses, they are as important as offence bonuses most of the time.

Close I'm so sorry I brought up something that was deep down.

Btw this is a comparison of the 2:

Normal gear:

normalpm2.png

Strength bonus: 128

Slash attack bonus: 124

Void knight gear:

voidmm5.png

Strength bonus: 117 (107 + 10%)

Slash attack bonus: 123 (112 + 10%)

Normal gear clearly wins by far, having better bonuses in attack, strength and almost double the defence bonuses of void knight, could also be used with black mask.

Edit:

I guess my calculations was unwelcome here.

Your calculations were welcome here, they were just proven to have flaws, if they were unwelcome i wouldn't have spent 20 minutes making the above comparisons.
