Wait, ginger, don't you guys have a report option for stuff on the main site?

They do, but I think the point is the forums is a more of a direct way in doing things, and many more people use the forums for corrections then the main site, but then again I have no idea, just going from his post.

I'm puzzled, what dyu mean?

I don't have any right to ban people from accessing either the main site or the forums, no. I'm a member of the Crew, not the moderation team. The two are completely seperate. I don't even have mod powers on this board, for example.

They set up accounts and start posting topics about corrections in the Website U&C. Typically, the threads I see there have been posted by users with a post count of 1.

You should probably read over my suggestion. It said that the Websites U & C as well as the Rate this Forum would not be included in this.

And to the "People need 30 posts to make a new topic" would just provick(sp?) people to spam until 30, and the staff wouldn't be able to keep up with resetting peoples post count to zero, it's just a horrible idea that would bring tip.it down.

What do you mean keep resetting post counts. There account would be deleted before they would even reach the 30 post count. If you were a spammer and had to post countless times to reach the 30 post count to post a porn picture and then have your account banned once you reach a post count of no more than 20 before you get banned - I'd love to see how long you'd (the hypothetical spammer) would continue on doing it. Obviously if you'd have any brains being a spammer you'd get annoyed and go to another forum to spam.

And I have no idea how you could come to the conclusion that the 'staff wouldn't be able to keep up with resetting peoples post counts to zero' (or in other words banning the spammers accounts), since spamming wouldn't occur as much when you put a 'highish' limit on posting pics and posting threads. Even if you did get the spammers they wouldn't be doing anymore than what they are doing now in terms of having to ban people and then ban them again and then ban them again since they continually use proxies to get around TIF ip banning to yet again spam the boards without any means of 'stopping' them. That's why I believe it would be wise on behalf of the admins to put a post count limit on being able to post pics and start new threads (besides in Website Updates & C. and the Rate This forum). It will if anything at least stop the amount of spammers - obviously not all will go but i'm sure the vast majority will get bored in having to post 30 posts of spam before being able to post pics and threads.

I never replied to your quote... :|

I personally would have no issues against that.

And how many non-harmful, good mature (or at least contributing) users get annoyed, and go to RSC, or some other forum since they have the brains to post pictures when they want @ select forums on RSC, or other RS fansite forums? Let's not be like Jagex and kill RWT (spammers), but hurt the members (members of Tip It), in the process. :-#
