Powman3
I just recently got a new guitar for my birthday. I don't know the name, but it's nice. I would like to know some tips from all you guys are who know it pretty well. I'm getting internet lessons and stuff, so if you guys have any tips like say breaking my guitar after a huge production (which I am NOT going to frikkin do), it would be greatly appreciated. Sir_Alex85
Well, let's see if we can find out what type it is first eh? What's the brand on the headstock say, and what kind of shape is it? It really has
Powman3
It's an Ibanez, that's what it says on the head.
Ragen
Ultimate Guitar My best friend as a guitarist. Loads of tabs, loads of lessons. The most useful one for me was thisAlternate Picking Lesson. Anyway, my advice would really depend on what your goals are as a guitarist, what genres you play etc. General places to start would be learning your chords, notes on the fretboard and alternate picking. If you want to a be virtuso, then you're going to need to practice for long hours every day, learn your musical theory in depth and use a metronome (Clicky). If you want to learn some simple songs to play, try starting out with learning to read tabs and play some Nirvana. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar! pryomancer
Learn the basic chords, chord progressions and using your left and right hands properly. Ten minutes every day practising is 100% better than 2 hours once a week.

GordanFreeman
If you want an easy way to solo, just learn some scales (pentatonic would probably be best for soloing). And also as someone else said, alternate picking. "El que no arriesga no gana"
assassin_696
What kind of stuff do you want to play? Bands, songs etc. How you learn I think depends a lot on who you want to try and emulate. mello757
Learn to play songs that you like. Even if its just the main riff or whatever. You can try to figure it out your but might not be so easy since your new at it. Instead search the internet for tab or tablature. Reading this stuff is pretty easy and tells you where to play it. Ragen
[hide][/hide] Go learn it. :D Is that experimental music? I think it's a joke, as although my music reading is poor at best, I think I see at least 256th notes in the top right hand corner and thats just silly. I know it looks crazy, but seriously, experimental music's like that. We looked at some examples when doing music GCSE and they were actually like that. :P Stuff like throwing a dice to see what note they'd play, changing costumes, all that.
