Should JAGeX explain the game?

I notice that there are many debates regarding how transparent JAGeX should conduct their business and I see many others about whether updates should be f2p, released soon, amended etc but what most of these debates lack is fact.

Unless I am mistaken no one apart from JAGeX understand the mechanics of how skills work. ie if two players of unequal wc level cut a yew how many logs does each get on average ? The same for mining Which gets the ore and why?. If there are 10 people fishing at one spot should half of us move ? etc etc

So does anyone know? Should JAGeX explain so we can make informed choices and therefore reduce frustration. Or is it none of my damned business?

Personally it would increase the pleasure I get from the game because I like statistical analysis and would enjoy calculating when and how I should do any particular skill. It would also add the one factor that is missing from the game ie skill and experience = a better player.

Would anyone play any other game without knowing the rules?

Sorry but just for a second I thought I must have posted this subject in the " One line of words is enough please do not explain" forum!!!

In what way do tips and guides and calculators decrease the experience?

If you do not want them do not read or use but 99.9% of players use them as useful tools. It is in their use of these tools that show whether you can play smart or dumb.

My discussion is whether JAGeX should let us know the rules to increase most players skill and decision making.

They are useful, but you can't say that you don't miss the feeling you had when you were a newb. When you first developed your own strategy to smithing etc.

Guides, facts about the game engine etc take away these discoveries, and more and more players log in to get a specific thing done in a specific procedural way, like it's a job or something.

I liked it better in rsc when the only really public guides were to pack the crate full of bananas for 30 gp etc and people just kinda figured the rest out as they went along.

I think we have the right of knowing, more if p2p , you have the right to now how a device you buy ro pay for works, and I think this will encourage player to vl up skills even more.

personally i dont care...i never wonder these things...

Brilliant one-liner, moron.

Anyway... I don't know. Personally I'd love it if they did something like that, I always enjoy looking at statistics. Then again it is sometimes fun to research it yourself with your own data. Really they could post it and if you don't want to read it you don't have to.

It probably would be good information, especially for resource gatherers. Hey, if people want to do that math, then they have the upper hand. They can do calculations and try and rake in the most resources they can. Personally though, I think it's all random. On my other account, I have 90 WC and yet still I don't seem to get that many logs in comparison to other yew cutters, or even that characters 74 mining sometimes doesn't measure up to someone with 60 mining.

Taking a Playstation 3 break.
