Hope you all know of Smogon right?

It gives the best sets people use on their pokemon for DPPt.

Thanks.

It's worth reading the "Opinion" article down the bottom too, it gives you a general idea of a decent group of peoples say on a certain pokemon.

Oh and most importantly, the last article - COUNTERS.

Also, as I posted my emerald team before, Im going to update:

LV33 Marshtomp

LV33 Cacturne

LV32 Magneton

LV32 Dodrio

LV33 Gardevoir

LV33 Camerupt.

I have a Skarmory, Heracross, Natu, and a Rhyhorn in my PC. All in 20s.

Are there any I should change?

I dont need a siggy no moar.

I'd personally replace Camrupt with Heracross.

Some reasoning too, Camerupt covers fire, ground and rock on my team. Out of these Heracross would do..

none :P

Your Marshtomp already covers all of those.

Fire and rock wouldn't be effective on Marshtomp and you could always switch in Dodrio to take ground type attacks.

There is always a pattern with smogon sets. Choice item/support/certain move/decent stall

I only use smogon for the EV spreads but even then I'd change it around still. But they all all the same really, You don't get my super sexy awesome Kangaskhan set on Smogon.

I call it an ERPkhan :P

Marshtomp doesnt attack with fire.

Maybe take out Dodrio then?

Can you give reasoning to the idea, Zaaps, I dont want to spam up the thread.

So why should I? I dont have normal or flying stab, and Dodrio comes with an 80 (+40 STAB) attack at level 32. Also flies me around.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Because you can give it a status affliction to activate Guts and then use Facade from the Gym TM (forgot which gym). That means you fire off 140 base power attacks with a 50% guts boost. If you have Megahorn, you can give it that for a 120 power attack, 180 after STAB with a 50% guts boost if you don't have status. To me, 140/180 power attacks with a 50% boost in attack is better than 120.

Flying is 2x on Bug, Fight, and Grass. Camprupt takes care of Bugs and Grass already and Gardevoir would take care of fighting.

Now Heracross can't use fly, but you could also just switch it in whenever you prepare for a gym battle and stock a few escape ropes with you when you're on the road.

EDIT: Ross, you can give Smeargle Ingrain, which will get passed on with Baton Pass, which nullifies any use Cradily would give against phazers.

Thats fair, but am I actually going to give Facade to Heracross when I am thinking of Ursaring? 130 Base + Guts + STAB = <3: !!!

I see. I may switch between the two sometimes, aswell. Any other changes you think of? *Trains Heracross*

I'd consider Rhyhorn -> Rhydon for a great physical attacker and is great for gyms you know will use physical attacks so you can wall them.

But I wouldn't go that far. That's it for now, I think. How far are you into the game?

Aye, I am thinking of raising more than just six pokemon to change my whole gaming style. Usually I equally train 6 pokemon and use them for typing. :?

I just defeated Winona, the 6th gym, so I have to go to the Mountain, beat whoever that guy is, beat the others in the hideout, etc.

Ah. I never played Emerald, was always Ruby/Sapphire for me, so I don't know the storyline of Emerald.

Does anyone think that a Trick Room team centered on getting out Regigigas would work?

Trick Room lasts for 5 turns, including the turn it is activated, so after I activated Trick Room, I would switch to Regigigas, with 50 speed and 80 attack. Since it would have 50 speed, it would be faster than most opponents under Trick Room. I could then use Swagger + Psych Up to set up. After that, I have 1 turn to attack while remaining Trick Roomed, then 1 turn to just survive, before Slow Start wears off and I get 160 attack +2 stages + STAB return with 100 speed.

80 attack isn't too good, but it's not really that bad either. I could probably last those 5 turns of Slow Start on 80 attack + Trick Room.

What are the thoughts?

Doubles teams or singles team?

Regigigas is NU or UU according to Smogon so it's playable everywhere.

If you have a trick room team, GET URSARING :twss:

Trick room teams are a bit.. hard to use though

Would be amazing for doubles...but no, singles.

Problem with Usaring is that after Trick Room is over, I'm stuck with him, meaning I would have to switch out to a Trick Roomer, then switch him back in. With Regigigas, I'm just using Trick Room to remove part of Slow Start's effect so I help it set up/wait out the time.

EDIT: You can't use Gastro Acid on an ally can you?

Nice, so if I play Doubles, I won't even need Trick Room effect.

I was thinking of making the main goal Regigigas but of course with alternate sweepers if Regigigas fails.

I looked through a few Pokemon, here's what I think thus far:

Lead: Bronzong/Cresselia

I'm not sure which one I should choose. Bronzong has a lot more bulkiness but Cresselia is useful outside of setting up trick room

Alternate trick roomers: Slowking and Poryzon2, both of which have some sort of sweeping potential. However, like all trick room teams, leaves me with a dark/bug weakness among my trick roomers. Any suggestions?

Regigigas as the main focus, armed with Earthquake, Return, Fire Punch and Thunder, although I've been thinking of replacing one of them with Substitute, to enhance it's survivability.

Scizor and Machamp to finish, offering support/sweeper abilities in case Regigigas doesn't follow through. I'm not so sure about Scizor though, and I think Dragonite might be better.

Not really.

If Game Freak didnt screw with attacks and make everything overly powerful, there would be more reliance on defence than attacking and stealth rock + defence on SR.
