Hmm, perhaps:

*You may not lose a trainer/gym/boss battle (even if you have useables in your PC)

*Can only buy a limited number of healing items/Pokeballs

*No legendaries

*No HM Slaves

*No breeding (since it grants some degree of control over which pokemon you get)

*Must beat all avaliable Pokemon contests in addition to Gyms prior to the Elite Four

*No NPC trades

Hmm, I got all the Advance games on my iPod, so I guess I'll pick the one no one else has.

Thinking of something similar with either Emerald or LeafGreen. Everyone's doing Hoenn games except Riku though, so leaning towards LG

Well the batteries of the original games are all probably dead by now, not sure about Gen II though. And my Leaf Green has been with my 9 year old cousin for the last 3 years, and asking for it back would be kinda weird.

I'll be considering your ideas, zaaps.

The Gen I game batteries apparently last a lot longer because they don't have to continually keep time.

Esp with ruby and sapphire, you got the berry glitch, unless you got a jirachi.

In which case you'd need to transfer the jirachi and thus break the rules of the challenge.

Ah, right, I forgot about the berry glitch. That Jirachi wouldn't be obtainable anymore though, right?

I've decided (65% sure) that I'll reset my beloved Sapphire to do the Nuzlocke challenge. I want it to be difficult, so throw as many rules as possible at me to make it harder, and I'll pick which ones I want. So far I have:

-KO=graveyard box (unusable but not released).

-1st pokemon in each route must be caught. If not, no other in that route can be.

-You must nickname all pokemon caught.

-Set battle style must be used.

Here's a chart you can use to set your own difficulty.

[hide=]1269893749258.png[/hide]

Also NO GRAVEYARD BOX! You're just going to transfer it after you're done. That doesn't fly.

Transfer it to where?

To D/P/Pt/HG/SS.

To D/P/Pt/HG/SS.

I didn't intend to. I want to keep them in a box merely as a memorial of their deaths. I've decided on the rules for my challenge.

[hide]-KO=graveyard

-1st pokemon that isn't a duplicate must be caught

-Nicknames

-Set style

-Absolutely no losing battles

-No ingame trades (they suck in Sapphire anyway)

-Legendaries are allowed to be caught, but repels must be used for the cave Kyogre resides in so it is the first encounter.

-One pokemon center heal after each gym battle, otherwise, items must be used.[/hide]

I can confirm that. My gold/silver batteries are dead but my blue isn't.

I'm lazy to post another chapter atm, maybe i'll just do a small summary.

Edit: This will be without story, too lazy atm. The progress was:

well I decided to start one of these in Leafgreen.

Here's the story thus far, following the lovely form set by demo:

[hide=]

I can't believe I'm finally going to become a Pokemon trainer. Today is the day Professor Oak gives me one of his Pokemon! I quickly ran to the lab, but one of the aides told me he wasn't there. I went to his house, but he wasn't there either.

So I figure, hey, maybe he's on route 1 doing some field work, and surely enough, that's where he finds me.

He offered me one of his old pokemon. As bad as I felt about taking one of his beloved Pokemon away from him, I picked the fiery Charmander, who I aptly named Drake.

That [bleep] of a grandson, Red, immediately decided to pick Squirtle...[bleep]....and proceeds to challenge me to a battle. You can pick Squirtle all day, bro, but you're not gonna beat me. Somehow, Drake spares his Squirtle's life, and we continue onward.

In Viridian, some lazy old man decided to block all traffic because he didn't have his coffee. As much as I wanted Drake to teach him a thing or two, I instead visited the Mart, where Prof. Oak said he had something that needed to be delivered (another lazy old man...). So I go to the Mart, grab the parcel, run it back to Oak, and get a shiny new Pokedex and a few Pokeballs. Now the journey really begins.

Upon reentering Route 1, I get attacked by a Pidgey. Drake helps me catch it, and I name the female Pidgey Mercedes. We continue onward to Viridian, racking in exp. for Drake and Mercedes along the way.

West of the city, there's a certain Route 22. I meet a Mankey there, but unfortunately for me, Drake is unable to hold back his strength, and kills it with a critical hit. Oh well, no new Pokemon here for me. I realize that I cannot proceed along this route, so instead I head northward, to Route 2. I catch a Rattata here, and I name it Maus.

Into Viridian Forest, where I encounter my first trainer battle with some kid with Caterpies and Weedles. These little bugs couldn't stand up to Drake's Ember or Mercedes' Gust, and soon I find myself at the end of the forest with a few extra levels and a Weedle named Arsenic. [/hide]

*Level 11 Drake (Charmander)

*Level 10 Mercedes (Pidgey)

*Level 5 Maus (Rattata)

*Level 5 Arsenic (Weedle)[/hide]

Thinking of something similar with either Emerald or LeafGreen. Everyone's doing Hoenn games except Riku though, so leaning towards LG

I just thought that if you did Emerald we could each pick a different starter and compare the difficulties. I'll probably do Treecko, Demoli has Mudkip, so if you did Emerald I think it'd be really cool to pick Torchic.

Already started with Treecko, but only about half an hour in. Will do Torchic

Hopefully can get another Ralts though

Oh, sorry man, I just really wanted to do Treecko because my current save file is Blaziken and I want to switch things up.

Torchic would change things up for me, I usually start with Treecko.

Fantastic, thanks for being so cool about reseting :P

I'll probably start tomorrow after I migrate some important items.

Just had the most epic sweet sweep ever.

Do you outspeed gyarados?

Bulky yes, DD without speed yes, DD with speed/any kind of Gyarados with 50+Spe Ev's not.

From what i have experienced so far, weavile, Infernape, Gyarados and Machamp are it's best counters, due to faster priorities, resistence to everything and Unubility to OKO

Incidently, the combination of Dusknoir/Rotom and Jirachi beats all of them.

I use Adamant, but i must try Jolly some time too. Scizor really is usually overkill with BP and Reversal, must run a few rounds with it
