I checked iFile (which is like Windows Explorer for a jailbroken iPod).

Pokemon Emerald is 16MB, each save file is less than 500KB.

Same story for Pokemon FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, and Sapphire.

Granted DS files are bigger. My Pokemon Platnium emulator file in 126MB. Following suit, the save file would be about 4MB. If what you say is true about the chip holding 512MB, and there's no size discrepancy between emulator versions and real versions, there's plenty of room.

Assuming emulator data takes up the same amount of room as game cartridges, then the HG/SS ones should actually be around 256MB. I recall reading somewhere that the new DS cartridges were twice the space of the original, and I thought the old ones were 256, so that's where I may be mistaken. However, after 10 minutes of google searching, I can't find any definitive answers on the current style of DS cards (black as opposed to grey).

[hide=part 5]After beating the curvacious and supple Flannery, I headed for the desert. Geico got plenty of action. Not much else to report, but I took the Root Fossil. Geico learned Leaf Blade, which beats Bullet Seed by a long shot, besides the low PP. After getting to the Rock Smash rocks by Mauville, I realized I left Izzy in the PC. So I went down Jagged Pass again, which was good because I could battle the trainer I missed earlier. I decided to relieve my character's sexual tension caused by Flannery, and I decided bathing in the hot springs in Lavaridge with the elderly was my best bet. Their pruny bodies were to die for.

I headed back to Mauville, then Slateport, and bought a hefty amount of Soda Pop. I took Mr. Briney's ship all the way back to Petalburg. I entered the Gym, and fought through the hordes of stat specialists. At this point I had two Proteins, both picked up by Izzy, and I gave them to Siren. Finally, I was able to challenge my character's father, the Petalburg Gym Leader. I stocked up on supplies, and headed into battle.

This time, I had a strategy. Rocky was level 23, and I had 2 rare candies. I used them both on him, evolving him into a Graveler. I also bought 3 X attacks and plenty of super potions. Right off the bat, he sends out a super-powerful Slaking. Slowly, I get all the X attacks in without dying, and thanks to a few lucky magnitudes, it goes down. The same for the second Slaking as well. Finally, he sent out his Vigoroth. It went down without much trouble too.

I did it. I defeated my father, the infamous hacker, Norman. He gave me a Facade TM, which I taught to Siren in place of Uproar. I healed.

So next tourney is just gen 1/2 pokes? I see a scizor/ttar/gyara/skarmbliss fest without stallbreakers like infernape, so stall will be prevalent.

Tyranitar and Dragonite destroy Skarmbliss. Both have awesome attack and decent special attack. Both also have Superpower (for Blissey) and Fire Blast/Flamethrower/Fire Punch/Thunderbolt/Thunder Punch for Skarmory.

Although yeah, I'm gonna say stall shall rule.

So yeah, i defeated the 8th gym thanks to Nathan's increadible tanking abilities and started organizing my team for the E4.

So far, i have Camilla (Cameupt), Pierre (crobat), Nathan (Swampert), Magnus (Magneton), Samus (aggron) and Indigo (Vibrava, oing to evolve it).

I feel camilla and Indigo aren't going to do much at the E4, camilla has a quad weakness to water and has no Super effectives in the entire E4 and Indigo, even as Flygon, is kinda weak offensive and frail defensivy, with a quad weakness to Ice.

I was thinking of placing a Lileep in the team, but i don't know what elso to put.

the capacity is there but they want you to buy another game. it goes along with why they release 2 or 3 games a gen, they have to promote you to buy the other games, if not for collecting all the pokes than for different game files

Yes, I'm just saying that's the possible.

Hmm, for the tournament after this, we should try a mono-type tournament.

For those who don't know, mono-type teams are teams where every Pokemon is of the same type, with dual-types allowed. (Ex. Scizor is fair game for mono-bug teams despite the fact that it's not pure bug.)

Certain rules:

-You are allowed 1 Pokemon that's not of your chosen type in order to give your team a chance against inherently superior teams (having a Suicune or Celebi on a mono-fire team, for example, or Metagross on a mono-flying)

-If you chose mono-dragon, you are permitted to use pseudo-dragons because there are not enough non-Uber and fully-evolved dragons to make a full team. This means you are allowed to use Gyarados, Charizard, etc. on a mono-dragon team. However, some people do not consider a pseudo mono-dragon team a real mono-type team

A monotype was something that I wanted to do. I just wanted to do this Gen1+ 2 thing first.

Vote in the poll. I don't particularly want to spend another 2 months on each tournament, so I was thinking of just doing a random bracket tournament for this round. It's up to you guys though, so vote on whichever you like.

I voted robin, it gives the chance for players like me to have more matches

Not only that, but robin tournments usually rely more on skill than in luck, since you only need to be unluck once to be out of a bracket tourment.

I personally don't mind, but I feel that demoliboy's point is strongest. In addition, brackets are more for larger tournaments, and 10-12 partcipants isn't THAT many.

Round Robin usually shows the better of players, so...

But then again, I started feeling burnout during the last tourney, so...

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.

Perhaps we could do a losers bracket and have the winners from the losers and the normal bracket fight to become the campion?

Something like a Second Chance system? So basically have a normal bracket tourney, then the losers have their own bracket. The champions of each bracket have a final match basically?

Yeah, I just don't like the fact that one loss means you're out for good because it really depends on who you're playing against.

It's just meant to be a quick tournament.

You could do a Swiss System tournament?

Basically, it's shorter than Round Robin but no one is eliminated. I've played in them before, they're very effective.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss-system_tournament

A Swiss tournament goes for a predetermined number of rounds, with all of the players taking part in each round. In each round two players compete head-to-head. All players participate in the entire tournament none are eliminated. The winner (and top places) of the tournament is based on the final scores of the players. The final score is based on the number of points they accumulated for each round. In some competitions, one point is awarded to the winner of a round; in others, a number of points can be earned each round.

The principle of a Swiss tournament is that each player will be pitted against another player who has done as well (or poorly) as him or herself. For the first round, players are paired either according to some pattern or randomly (according to common practice in that type of game or sport). For subsequent rounds, players are sorted according to their cumulative scores and players are assigned opponents that have the same or similar score to that point. One proviso is that the same players never oppose each other twice. There may be adjustments made to the natural order. For instance, in chess the pairings may be changed to equalize the number of times a player has been White and Black.
